MMK 21st Century Extended Learning Center’s mission is to provide evolving educational programs to under-served students and families. Through exposure to 21st Century college majors and careers which they are underrepresented; we assist school districts with increasing graduation rates; and preparing graduating students to become technically proficient, college, career, work-force, military ready and prepared to transition into their post-secondary lives as contributing citizens.
MMK’s ever-evolving Organization is a year-around Extended Learning Center. This model provides comprehensive community services with a strong focus on early intervention—addressing students’ education needs from “cradle to career;” and gets whole families involved in early education.
Since 2005 and serving more than 4 ,000 youth, Millionaire Mind Kids (MMK) “grass-roots organization” have collaborated with educators, business leaders, and community volunteers to provide community and educational enrichment programs to minority and low-income students; clients of Domestic Violence Centers, and Foster Care and Kinship Organizations, throughout Victor Valley. The purpose of our programs are to expose low-income, minorities, and academic-challenged youth to highly skilled STEM college majors and career opportunities which they are underrepresented and to help cultivate more diverse STEM work-place environments.
Millionaire Mind Kids collective impact has assisted local schools with building positive school cultures; increasing student achievement; increasing graduation rates; and assisting students with college acceptance and scholarship awards. We have assisted government with sharing county-wide visions (with families) and helping families to implement small steps, that unifies residents, to increase safety in our schools, workplaces, and communities. We are assisting businesses with building and strengthening the skills of students and parents who are preparing to transition into the workforce. We are helping to prepare youth leaders who understand civic responsibility; and the importance of building a ladder of opportunities, which allows them, to climb to their highest aspirations; while creating success pathways for others to climb.
MMK has received awards and recognition from all sectors of our communities: San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, SBC First District Supervisor, 33rd District Assemblyman, 7th District Congressman, Victorville City’s Mayor, local school districts, businesses, and community organizations.
MMK's inspire students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math career options; become more financial responsible; and learn ways to apply information and innumerable skills to real-life situations.
Millionaire Mind Kids Summer Academies and year-round after-school enrichment programs in the subjects of (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM)-Robotics, Aviation Career Education, Law & Justice, Financial Literacy, and Scholarship) after-school tutoring, and family engagement workshops. MMK’s programs are offered to students and families across Victor Valley High Desert Communities.
The NEW Millionaire Mind Kids 21st Century Extended Learning and Family Resource Center’s model serves as a one-stop shop of comprehensive community services; collaborating with educators, non-profit organizations, businesses, and community leaders to meet the following objectives:
•Support programs that encourage the development of responsible, motivated and educated youth;
•Support the development of arts, music and culture in the community
•Encourage programs that promote a healthy lifestyle
•Develop public facilities for educational enrichment for whole families that facilitate community involvement and recreation;
•Encourage programs designed to unite youth, seniors, veterans and disabled persons in mentoring and care giving.
MMK’s Programs are administered and operated through engaging every sector of our community: educators, businesses, government, community, volunteers, college and returning students. Each year these sectors collaborate to provide high-quality, educational enriched, hands-on experience, and field trips that excites students’ appetite for application-based learning while exposing students to myriad of careers.
