From Waitress to PhD Scholar: Mitchell Mhlangaโ€™s journey is the ultimate definition of tenacity! ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผโœจ

Imagine being forced to drop out of law school in your second year because you simply cannot afford the tuition. For many, that would be the end of the dream. For Mitchell, it was just a detour.

After finishing high school in 2010, Mitchell worked as a waitress to fund her education. When financial hardships cut her law degree short in 2013, she didnโ€™t give up. She soldiered on, took an entirely new route, and moved to China to completely rebuild her future.

Look at her incredible timeline of resilience:

* 2010: Finished high school & started working as a waitress ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
* 2012โ€“2013: Started law school at UNISA but was forced to drop out due to financial constraints ๐Ÿ’”
* 2016โ€“2020: Relocated to China and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in International Trade & Economics from Shanghai Lixin University ๐ŸŽ“
โ€ข 2020โ€“2022: Pushed forward to earn her Master of Arts (MA) in International Public Administration from JUFE ๐Ÿ“š
โ€ข 2022โ€“2026: Reached the ultimate academic peak, officially earning her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Trade from JUFE! ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿฅ‡

In her own words: "It is never too late to chase your dreams... I didnโ€™t give up on my dreams and I took the next available route that led me to where I am today."

Mitchell openly shares that there were times she felt like giving up on life when things got heavy, but through hard work, faith, and pure grit, she made it through.

Today, we celebrate her brilliant mind and unbreakable spirit. Let her story be your reminder today: a delay is not a denial! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Vote for Your Childrenโ€™s Future
Our children canโ€™t vote โ€” but they will live every day with the consequences of our choices. The leaders we elect decide the quality of their schools, the safety of their neighborhoods, the strength of their libraries, parks, and youth programs, and the opportunities theyโ€™ll have to learn, grow, and thrive.
Your vote is not just a personal decision. It is an investment in the next generation.
When you step into the voting booth, ask yourself: โ€œWhat kind of world do I want my children and grandchildren to inherit?โ€
Policies that shape education, public safety, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunity donโ€™t just affect today โ€” they build the foundation for tomorrow. Even if an issue doesnโ€™t touch your life directly, it will touch theirs.
Vote informed. Vote intentional. Vote with your children in mind. Vote for their future.
