The pain that I felt used to cover me like a warm blanket protecting me from the outside world. But now it's like an iron maiden not to protect me from harm but to keep where I am leaving a sliver of light to taunt me- no to remind me of what happiness looks like. Depression used to be a shiny set of black armor and its superior disposition- a way to look down upon others as if one could say "You can't what's in constant pain". Now the rat hole has become dark and cold. The pain has now become my prison, my stockade, only to watch the world around me and hope that one day God will take pity on me and show me the easy way out.

My mental health currently feels like unsteady scaffolding. While I'm experiencing happiness, it also feels as though it could collapse at any moment, leaving my life in shambles once again. So, I'm doing a balancing act just to stay upright to stay happy just a little bit longer.
