🎓 CASI Scholarship Deadlines Are Approaching! 🌶️

The updated CASI Scholarship Program Application is now available and deadlines are coming up fast.

🗓 Important Dates:
• March 1 – Completed applications must be returned to your Great Pepper for review
• March 15 – Great Peppers submit completed applications to the Scholarship Administrator

🌶️ What is a Great Pepper?
A Great Pepper is a local CASI member or representative who sponsors and helps guide scholarship applicants in their area. They review applications, make sure everything is complete and submit them on the student’s behalf.

📄 Who can apply?
• High school seniors
• Students pursuing academic or technical/trade education

📝 What’s included in the application?
• Application form
• Essay (career goals & future plans)
• Activities & community involvement
• Academic transcripts
• Counselor or administrator signature

On behalf of the VASA Pod Officers we would like to Thank everyone who came out and supported our 3 day cookoff event Thanksgiving weekend. With y’all’s support we were able to raise $3,600 for our charities. Today our Great Pepper April presented Dorothy O'Connor Pet Adoption Center with $2,200 check. Huge thanks to the chili cooks that also donated items as well. We also presented a $1,000 check to Victoria College for our VASA Pod Memorial Scholarship Fund. Start making your plans to join us at our Spring Fling Cookoff held Memorial Day weekend May 23rd- May 24th

CASI is excited to hear that , Oli Pettigrew will attending the 58th Annual Terlingua International Chili Championship. He will be onsite Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1. He is quite the sensation on social media and has many followers on FB, Instagram and Tik-Tok. If you haven't seen his feeds online we urge you to take a look. Here is just a little about Oli.

A feature on international and national television screens for
16 years, there’s hardly a country on Earth where you haven't
been able to catch Oli on the small screen.
Whether driving the Cash Cab around the streets of
Singapore, exploring UNESCO world heritage sites in Oman or
meeting a small town's donkey mascot in Newfoundland &
Labrador, Oli's quick wit and gift for story telling led to a
number of award nominations and wins, as well as an 8 year
stint on national television in the USA.
Oli is a relatively new Texas transplant who has most recently
been gaining attention for his musings and observations on all
things Texan as on Tik-Tok and
Facebook. Racking up millions of views with his wry
observations of America's most unique state.

He will be shooting some video while he is on the Ranch and again, we are very excited to get his take on CASI and the Championship.
