Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity Since 1994, we've helped more than 400 families in the Golden Crescent area and around the world build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian ecumenical housing ministry that builds quality, low cost homes in partnership with low-income families and the Golden Crescent. Our affiliate serves DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio, and Victoria Counties in Texas. Our mission is: "Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build Home

s, Communities and Hope." Volunteers build the simple, decent, affordable homes. The houses are funded by donations from foundations, corporations, local businesses and community members. Qualified families purchase their homes at cost and pay the purchase price back over a 30-year period with no interest. These monthly payments create a sustainable funding source and are recycled into building more homes for other needy families. Partner Families are required to work 300 hours of "Sweat Equity" per adult, 80 hours of which must be expended on their own house.
