We are extremely proud of Billy T. Cattan Recovery Outreach, Inc. -BTCRO Case Manager, Sheryl Meitzen!

👏

Congratulations to VC graduate Sheryl Meitzen! 🎓💙

Sheryl has completed her Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Victoria. She’ll walk across the stage this December, marking another incredible milestone in a journey that started right here at Victoria College.

Sheryl’s story is one of resilience, determination, and second chances. She went from experiencing homelessness and struggling with addiction as a young mother to becoming a sober, dedicated mom and college graduate.

Throughout her journey, Victoria College’s KEY Center provided support when she needed it most and played an important role in helping her reach her goals.

"This represents so much more than a degree," said Sheryl. "It represents everything it took to keep going and finish what I started. It means so much to me that Victoria College continues to follow and support my educational journey, especially since VC is where my journey began."

Today, Sheryl is proud to work at the Billy T. Cattan Recovery Outreach Center, where she mentors women who are struggling with addiction. She is proud to use her own experiences to help others find hope and a path forward.

We are so proud of you, Sheryl! Way to go! 👏🎓

How did your time at VC shape your journey? We’d love to hear your story! Share it with us at VictoriaCollege.edu/ShareYourStory.

If you or someone you know is struggling with 7-OH, please know this: you’re not alone, and help is available.

You don’t have to wait until you’ve stopped using to ask for help. You can reach out while you’re still using 7-OH, and we’ll help you develop a safe, individualized plan to stop. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Products containing concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) can lead to physical dependence, often before people realize what’s happening. Needing help is not a sign of weakness—it’s a sign that your body may need support to heal.

You may be experiencing dependence or withdrawal if you notice:

💙 Strong cravings or feeling like you can’t get through the day without using
đź’™ Needing more than you used to feel the same effects
đź’™ Anxiety, restlessness, or irritability when you try to stop
đź’™ Trouble sleeping
đź’™ Muscle aches, sweating, chills, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
đź’™ Feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or unable to focus

These symptoms can be difficult to manage alone, but you don’t have to. There are people who care, understand what you’re going through, and are ready to help—without judgment.

📞 Call 361-576-HOPE (4673) to learn about treatment and recovery resources. Help is available regardless of your ability to pay.

Whether you’re reaching out for yourself or someone you love, one phone call can be the beginning of healing. There is hope. There is help.

We’ve got you. 🫶🏼
