Our book prices at FRIENDS SALES are already bargains with most hardcover books only $2 and paperbacks mostly $1. But, this time, generous donors have been clearing out MASSIVE numbers of Harlequin and Silhouette publisher books. By "massive," we mean hundreds of paperback romances. So, we are offering these Harlequin and Silhouette romance paperbacks at the really low price of only 50 cents each. HEAs CHEAP! Find them at the Friends Sale starting Sunday, September 13 (members only acess Sunday) and continuing all week at the Library. Bring cash or a check because we don't take apps or plastic.

September is library card sign-up month! Visit the Victoria Public Library to sign up for your very own library card or renew your library card! A library card gives you access to print books, audiobooks, music, movies, and so much more! 📚😊

This September, Library Card Sign-up Month invites communities to discover all the possibilities waiting behind a library card—from books and digital resources to programs, technology, makerspaces, cultural experiences, and more.

For library supporters like Trustees, Friends, and Foundation leaders, it’s also an opportunity to help amplify the message: library access is community access. Consider partnering with your library to promote card sign-ups, reaching new audiences through community organizations and local businesses, or helping support inclusive outreach efforts.

The sale starts Sunday, Sept. 13, with the members-only access event, then opens to the general public for the rest of the week. Don't forget to come by on the last day of the sale on Saturday, Sept. 19, to stuff your Friends of the Library book bag for just $1!
All proceeds from the book sale support Victoria Public Library programs and services, including the summer reading program, gingerbread house workshop and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Just two weeks to go! We open on Sunday, September 13, for the members' preview event from 2 to 4. You can join or renew your membership for only $10 and shop this members-only pre-sale PLUS all three sales in 2027. We are open for all shoppers (you don't have to be a member, but we would love for you to join) Monday through Friday during regular Library hours, and on Saturday, we are open from 10 to noon. HUGE SELECTION OF BOOKS THIS TIME!!!! Not exaggerating to say thousands of books for sale at bargain prices. Great books for yourself or for gifting. Think holiday shopping! But also remember that all sales are by cash or check payment only.

This set of books comes to us as part of that “You never know what you will find at the FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE” adventure. We have a set of 27 of the Time Life “Library of Art” books in excellent condition. Each book is boxed, but we are selling this as a set. With books featuring artists from Cézanne to Whistler, with Goya, Van Gogh, Picasso, Rembrandt, and many more in between, this set will be an awesome holiday gift for the art lover on your list or for yourself. You will find the set on the special book table at our sale, which starts on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. for members of the Friends. We are open September 14-19 for everyone to come in and shop for great bargains and wonderful finds. Remember, all sales are CASH OR CHECK PAYMENT ONLY!

That is our Sunday sale for members of the Friends to access all the amazing books, DVDs, and CDs before the doors open to everyone on Monday, September 14. You can join at the sale on Sunday for only $10 and have access to the exclusive sale previews in September and all three sales in 2027.
You do not want to miss this sale. You can start some of your holiday gift shopping. Explore new hobbies. Stock up on your favorite authors. And, here's a tease - we have a huge selection of bargain-priced romance ... even better prices than the normal $1 for a paperback.

Just 6 weeks to go until the next FRIENDS BOOK SALE! We are still accepting donations of gently used, clean books, audiobooks, music CDs, and DVDs. We can't accept photocopied materials or "homemade" CDs and DVDs. And if that book took an accidental dip in the pool, we can't offer it for sale either.
Donations may be delivered to the Library during normal operating hours. PLEASE DO NOT PUT THEM IN BOOK RETURN BINS.

Just a quick reminder: the next FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE starts on Sunday, September 13, with members-only access. Join or renew in September, and your membership is good for this sale AND all three 2027 sales! $10 for the year, and you get to browse the best selection. It is SUMMERTIME at the Victoria Public Library! Hundreds of library fans turned out this morning for the summer kickoff and the Friends were happy to be there sharing information with parents on the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten early childhood literacy program. Fifty-two little ones started the journey this morning to that 1000 books goal…and we celebrated one young reader who reached her 1000 books goal today! Today is just the start of two months of continuous programs and challenges that will make this summer a great FUN at the Library!
