Yesterday, we lost a giant.
Our founder, Dan Fordice, passed away Tuesday doing something he loved. A P-51 Mustang pilot, patriot, visionary, and friend, Dan lived life larger than life itself.
But to those of us fortunate enough to know him personally, his greatest legacy was never the airplanes, the adventures, or the accomplishments. It was people.
Dan had a remarkable gift. Every person he met felt seen, heard, valued, and important. He carried joy into every room, every conversation, and every retreat. He often said he could never have a bad day after spending time with our Purple Heart veterans, because they reminded him what truly mattered in life.
Through the Warrior Bonfire Program, Dan helped save lives. Countless veterans across this country credit him with helping them rediscover purpose, brotherhood, healing, and hope. His impact cannot be measured because it lives inside the hearts of the people he served.
Dan taught all of us how to be grateful for what we have, how to share it generously, and how to spread joy wherever we go. He believed deeply in the mission that became the heartbeat of Warrior Bonfire Program:
“Pain shared is pain divided. Joy shared is joy multiplied.”
Those words will continue to guide us.
We are heartbroken. There are no words for how deeply he will be missed in every corner of this country. But we thank God for the time we had with him, for the laughter, the wisdom, the generosity, and the love he poured into so many lives.
And we promise this:
We will continue what Dan started.
We will continue serving the great men and women who sacrificed so much for this nation.
We will continue building bonfires, brotherhood, healing, and hope.
Dan Fordice will always be larger than life.
And he will always be part of every Warrior Bonfire.
Rest easy, Dan. We’ll take it from here. 🇺🇸
