Thanks to Amazon's generous grant, we are adding new park benches and picnic tables, hosting cooking workshops, expanding nutrition education, and keeping this garden running for the families who depend on it. When a company invests in real people in a real community, you feel the difference — and we feel it here in Vicksburg.

The grant funding will support improvements, nutrition programs and seasonal farmers markets offering expanded benefits for SNAP recipients.

Our Community Garden Grows Because of You

Thursday was a great day at the Vicksburg Community Garden. Shape Up Mississippi, Alcorn State University, and Alderwoman Vickie Bailey hosted a special Thank You event to recognize Amazon and the incredible volunteers from Entergy Grand Gulf. These partnerships make this garden possible.

A special thank you to Barry Batchelor, whose hard work and dedication keep this garden going strong.

When a company invests in real people in a real community, you feel the difference — and we feel it here in Vicksburg.

We also have exciting news — seasonal Farmers Markets are coming to the garden in partnership with the Alcorn State University Extension Program. Fresh, locally grown produce will be available, and for SNAP recipients, your dollars go twice as far through the Double-Up Bucks program—more fresh food on your table for the same budget.

To every partner, volunteer, and neighbor who has planted something, learned something, or taken home something fresh — thank you. This garden belongs to all of us.
