SAME is the premier professional engineering association in the United States for connecting architects, engineers and builders in the public sector and private industry, uniting them to improve individual and collective capabilities for national security. The Vicksburg Post of SAME, located in Vicksburg, Mississippi, meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month to discuss post business and hear fro

Past topics include the historic 2011 Mississippi River Flood, Evaluation of Terrorist Improvised Nuclear Device Detonation in US Urban Areas, and an annual Engineering Ethics presentation. The Vicksburg Posts hosts an annual golf tournament every October to raise funds for its local scholarship program and support the Warrior Bonfire Program. The Vicksburg Post is also home to the SAME/Army Engineering & Construction Camp held every summer in Vicksburg, MS. The Camp is designed to provide high-school students with an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering and construction skills in Vicksburg’s wide-ranging engineering community. This one-week program is supervised by professional engineers and volunteers from the local engineering organizations. The campers will gain a wealth of knowledge about the various career choices in the fields of engineering and construction. More information can be found on the camp's page:
