✨TITLEHOLDER SPOTLIGHT✨
Miss Lafayette County 2025, Malley Chase Faulkner
"The interview phase of competition is truly a unique opportunity for me to authentically express who I am and share my deeper motivations for participating in the Miss America system. It's not just about the crown; it's about using my platform to advocate for issues that matter to me and my community.
My community service initiative, Rivers Hope, is particularly close to my heart. It was established in memory of my brother River, who tragically died by su***de in 2017. His loss was not just heartbreaking; it was a wake-up call for me. I believe that su***de is a preventable tragedy, and through Rivers Hope, I aim to shed light on the importance of su***de awareness and prevention.
During the interview, I can share my personal story, illustrating why I chose this cause. Many people with mental health challenges often feel isolated, believing they must endure their struggles in silence. I want to change that narrative. No one should feel they need to choose between maintaining their livelihood and seeking the help they need. By sharing my experiences and advocating for mental health resources, I hope to inspire others to speak out and seek support.
In essence, the interview allows me to not only showcase my passion and dedication but also to connect with others on a deeper level, fostering understanding and empathy around mental health issues. It’s about turning pain into purpose and working towards a future where families don’t have to experience the same tragic loss that mine did."
