Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library in 1995 as a tribute to her father, Robert Lee Parton, who never learned to read or write. Since 2006, CFSCI has proudly served as the local affiliate and remains committed to helping put books in the hands of Switzerland County children.

Did you know that nearly 350 children in Switzerland County are currently enrolled in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library? That is over half of the eligible children in our community receiving FREE books each month from this wonderful program!

Since 2006, CFSCI has proudly served as the local affiliate of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. As one of Indiana's first local affiliates, CFSCI remains committed to putting books in the hands of Switzerland County children. Since its inception, this program has delivered 68,701 books in our community.

Since 2006, the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. has served as the local affiliate for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. For over 20 years, CFSCI has dedicated funding toward this program, along with generous support from the Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation and various donors throughout the years.

In honor of "Give Like Dolly Day 9/25" the CFSCI Board of Directors is proud to announce a $10,000 commitment toward this wonderful program. Generations of local children have been impacted by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and CFSCI remains fully committed to seeing this program continue here in Switzerland County!

In honor of National Read a Book Day (Sunday, September 6th), we would like to remind our community about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library here in Switzerland County.

Since 2006, the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. has been a proud supporter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library here in Switzerland County. This program provides a FREE book to children 0 - 5 years of age, mailed directly to their home each month. Since its inception, this program has distributed over 65,000 books in Switzerland County. There are nearly 350 local children currently participating and over 1,400 who have graduated from the program at age five!!

This program would not be possible without the continued support from the Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation, CFSCI and various other donors over the years. To sign your child(ren) up for the program, visit www.imaginationlibrary.com and register today!!

Switzerland County residents undergoing treatment for cancer are encouraged to request assistance from the Keeping Pace Cancer Fund, a fund within the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. While the financial needs of cancer patients vary, examples of how the Keeping Pace Cancer Fund has assisted individuals in the past includes transportation costs, meal expenses while seeking treatment, wigs, prescription drug costs and many other needs.

Individuals wishing to obtain assistance from the Keeping Pace Cancer Fund must complete an application so that the Keeping Pace Cancer Committee will know how best to assist the patient and his/her family. An application can be obtained by contacting the Community Foundation of Switzerland County at 812-427-9160. Applications may also be located online at:
www.cfsci.org/keepingpace/

Keeping Pace also provides tote bags (shown below) filled with entertaining and uplifting materials, as well as, basic supplies to show support for our friends and neighbors who may be faced with a cancer diagnosis. Contact CFSCI office for more information!

Interested in making a contribution? All donations to the Keeping Pace Cancer Fund stay right here in Switzerland County, benefiting our neighbors in need of assistance due to an unexpected cancer diagnosis. Anyone interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the Keeping Pace Cancer Fund may do so through the Community Foundation. Checks can be mailed or dropped off at the Community Foundation’s office (303 Ferry Street, P.O. Box 46, Vevay, IN 47043) or online donations can be made through the Foundation’s website, https://cfsci.fcsuite.com/erp/donate

Earlier this year, CFSCI awarded a grant to the Swiss W**e Festival to support the 2026 Swiss Ambassador Scholarship Contest. Representing eight area high schools, these seniors competed today for various scholarship opportunities. Congratulations to this year's Swiss Ambassadors!
