What can a painting do?

Summer’s Promise sold for $250, and thanks to matching gifts from our Community Champions, that became $500 directed to New Hope Center in honor of Most Sorrowful Mother of God.

It’s easy to see a painting as something beautiful to hang on a wall. But sometimes a painting becomes encouragement. Sometimes it becomes hope. Sometimes it becomes a reminder that kindness is still alive and well.

That’s why I paint.

One painting. Two blessings.

What a fun evening at our Patriot studio!

Melissa Rider gathered a wonderful group of friends and family, and together they turned blank canvases into beautiful works of art. Every painting was unique, and every smile told the story of a night well spent.

As a special thank-you for hosting, Melissa also received a Bloom Buddy to take home.

I love these gatherings because they aren’t just about painting. They’re about laughter, conversation, encouragement, and making memories together.

Sometimes the blessings take on a life of their own.

Lisa recently gifted one of my paintings to her friend Denise. Along with the painting came one of my premium gift bags featuring Soulmate Cardinals.

What surprised me was that Denise loved the artwork on the bag so much that she mounted it on a piece of barn wood and gave it a place of honor in her cabin.

Lisa shared that she and her friends had spent an evening talking about the mission behind Billie’s Painting with Purpose and the meaning they find in the artwork. Denise later said it makes her feel good to have something from her hometown artist.

As someone who simply paints from the heart, that’s a humbling thing to hear.

Thank you, Lisa, for passing the blessing along. And thank you, Denise, for giving new life to something that might otherwise have been tucked away.

It reminds me that art isn’t always found where we expect it. Sometimes it’s in the gift, sometimes it’s in the giving, and sometimes it’s even in the bag. ❤️
