Good Morning Woodsfolk,

I hope you’re hungry for more Amtgard, because we have a ton of activities this week!

Tonight, 6/23, at 7pm on our discord is our next craft & chat, where Alerow The Dunk & The Unloved Hive will be teaching a class on how to use the ORK (Online Record Keeper)

Tomorrow, 6/24 at 5pm will be our next fighter’s practice at Railroad Park in Downtown Birmingham. Bring some water, and comfy clothes. It’ll be warm, but like an olive garden waiter with the cheese, the sword grind doesn’t stop.

Thursday, 6/25 at Red Mountain Makers is our free craft night! You can learn to make a tabard, a woven belt, or chainmail keychain. Donations appreciated to help with materials, but not required. Please pre-register to help us estimate how many people we’ll expect.
Link: https://www.redmountainmakers.org/event-6730976

Friday, 6/26 is the kingdom craft & chat on the kingdom’s discord at 6pm Central Time. Come hangout and chat about crafts or Amtgard with players from across the kingdom!

Screech Unloved

Good Afternoon Woodsfolk, here's the games and activities planned for tomorrow!

**Roleplay/Lore**
The morning dew of an ending storm brings a mist over the woods, mixing with the smoke of cooking fires between canvas and timbers. The warcamp is abuzz with activity, filled with the ringing of smith’s hammers, the clattering of equipment, and footsteps of soldiers.
A group of hooded soldiers approaches a large tent, and at the nod of a guard, step inside.
A dozen or so figures are bound and shackled on the muddy floor. More guards inside shove them to kneel at attention. The first figure, wearing a rust colored hooded robe, steps forward towards the first prisoner.
“I’m only going to ask this once. Why did you attack my people, who is your leader, and where are they?”
The prisoner spits in the face of the first figure, “Get Fuh-,” their insult is cut short as a blue bolt of magic hits their chest, knocking them back.
Screech wipes the spit from his face, and pulls down his hood, stepping to the second prisoner. “Why did you attack my people, who is your leader, and where are they?”
The 2nd prisoner stammers, “They’ll kill us if we tell you”
A half elf steps forward, nocking an arrow, “You can tell us and live, or you can stay quiet and die here.”
“Our leader is dead,” says the third prisoner, “killed by the scaled queen, and she demands tribute or death from our people.”
“Who is this scaled queen?”
“Hush traitor! Your words will be the death of-,” the second prisoner was cut short by an arrow to the throat. As he gurgled on the ground, Screech stepped to the third prisoner, materializing a stone dagger in his hand.
“This scaled queen killed your leader, and demands tribute on pain of death to the warriors, so you attacked the woods for our wealth to appease your new queen.” The dagger lowers to the prisoner’s hands, cutting the rope bindings. “I offer you now a chance to free your people and take down this tyrant. Tell me where she is, and together, we will return your lands to your people, and build a prosperous future together.”
The prisoner rubbed his wrists, “She’s an ancient dragon, the largest we’ve ever seen, she defeated our strongest warriors, how will you defeat her?”
“This is the Everliving Woods, we eat Dragons for Breakfast. Now show me where her nest is, I’ve been craving a good omelet”

---------------------------------------------

Hatchling Day Schedule:
11:00 am – Weapons check begins, tournament sign-ups open
11:30 am – Combat etiquette class, hosted by Andor Door-Smasher
12:00 am – Warmup (bear pits) begin
12:30 am – Hatchling Tournament (open weapon, 3 orders of the warrior & under)
1:00pm – Hydrate or die-straight! Tournament brackets begin
1:30 pm – Class game 1: Like Stealing Candy From a Baby (Dragon)
2:30 pm – Beltlines primer, hosted by The Unloved Hive (hydrate!)
3:00 pm – Class game 2 (“Dragon Stew”)
4:00 pm – Pack up & let’s get tacos!

---------------------------------------------

Tournament Details: Hatchling Tournament
This will be an open-weapon (all melee/shields) Iron Man style tournament, open to any fighter with 3 orders of the warrior or below. The pit will be 30 minutes long, and players will be bracketed to the top 8 based on number of kills in the tournament. At the end of time, we will finish the streak of the current fighter in the pit.

---------------------------------------------

Game 1: “Like Stealing Candy From a Baby (Dragon)”
Story: Some of the raiders have seen the light and joined the woodsfolk, revealing that they were taken over by a dragon. While she has taken over their castle, she left her nest guarded by Giants (who we awoke and slayed). Let’s deal with these dragons before a 1 dragon problem becomes 10. Some of the enemy raiders have decided to also grab eggs, because they don’t trust the hatchlings to protect the nest, but the hatchlings haven’t realized that and are still trying to stop them.

Terrain: The “nest” is in a cave in the side of a cliff face, with 3 entrances. The edges are hard walls, which block projectiles/casting. However, some hatchlings may be on the cliff walls, pelting the attackers (non-coms can attack/cast at anyone going for eggs)
Woodsfolk/Raiders Objectives: collect as many eggs as possible. Eggs will be scored every 3 minutes.

Monster Objective: Stop them and prevent as many eggs as possible from being stolen in the 15-minute time frame. The Monster team will consist of a handful of fighters with some modified dragon stats, and any non-combatants who want to attack/cast from the cavern/cliff walls.

Respawn: 30 on death (may adjust for team size)

---------------------------------------------

Game 2: “Dragon Stew”
Story: With the eggs out of the way, Screech wants seconds. I hear dragon stew is tasty. Some of the raiders have joined with the dragons, and some may have joined the Woodsfolk.

Terrain: Same as before, though woodsfolk spawn may be moved.

Attacking Objective: Shatter the Dragon Players. Dragons have 5 lives (4 respawns), and retain their stats from the previous round.

Defending Objective: Survive

Respawn: 30 on death (may adjust for team size)

---------------------------------------------

I can’t wait to see y’all at park tomorrow! It will be a rain or shine event, there are pavilions we can shelter under if we need a reprieve, but if you have a pop-up tent, bring it for shade and shelter.

In Service,
Screech Unloved

P.S. Today is the last day to declare for upcoming elections. So far, Oz has declared for Monarch, Coldmute for Champion, and The Unloved Hive for Regent. I will not be seeking a second term as Champion. See Alerow’s post in the facebook group & discord for full election information.

TLDR:
11:00 – park starts
11:30 – class on combat etiquette
12:00 – warmups
12:30 – hatchling (3&under) tourney
1:00 – hydrate or die-straight (happy pride month!) & Brackets
1:30 – class game 1: 3 team collect the things
2:30 – beltlines class (& hydrate)
3:00 – class game 3: kill the VIP Monsters
4:00 – Packup & Tacos?

Howdy Woodsfolk!

We have an exciting opportunity to work with the Mcwayne Center on July 18th from 8am-2pm. They are doing an event from 10am-2pm to promote the release of the Odyssey. They invited us to demo archery, foam fighting, and A&S.

Unfortunately, this will conflict with the scheduled tournaments, court, and coronation. However, this is an amazing opportunity to promote ELW and build a relationship with the Mcwayne Center. You will receive attendance credit, be eligible for service based awards, and the Mcwayne Center has offered our volunteers a limited amount of tickets to see the Odyssey in IMAX.

Titania and I are running point on this so we are looking for 5 more volunteers. I’m looking for at least two people to demo foam fighting, two people to demo A&S, and one floater/archer. Please reach out to me directly and ASAP, if you are interested.

Good Morning Woodsfolk,

Don’t forget that today is fighter’s practice! Hope to see y’all at Railroad Park in downtown at 5pm today! If you can, bring water and a hat/sunscreen.

This Saturday is our next park day/dues paid brunch, and I hope to see you at McCallum Park at 11am! Here’s the battle games:

Dues Paid Lunch: We’ll be having bbq sandwiches! We’ll bring a few sauces, but if you have a favorite sauce, please bring some to share so we can debate who’s the sauciest of the woodsfolk. Dues are $6 for 6 months, or $60 for lifetime, and allow you to vote/run for office if you have attended 6 park days in the past 6 months.

---------------------------------

Warmup: Warlord – free for all that turns into a team battle. Whoever bests you becomes your warlord. All players must declare warlord on engagement or the kill doesn’t count for their team.

---------------------------------

Game 1: To Wake A Giant
Story: After their defeat in the goblin king’s court, the raiders have fled to the mountains, seeking the help of the giants who slumber there. But, they must collect all the Dragon-stones spread throughout the hills to activate the mage’s tower needed to summon the giants.

Terrain: The field is a narrow pass between 2 cliff faces. Players may attack with ranged weapons and cast down the cliff face towards the center of the field, but not up the cliff face towards the edge of the field (They have the high ground). Players in the central tower ignore the cliff terrain for ranged attacks/casting spells. Players can move up/down in elevation with a “Climbing” 10 count (ascent/descend the cliff faces, or enter/exit the tower). Players moving from higher elevation to lower elevation without this count take a wound to their leg (falling hurts).

Raider’s Objective: Gather 7 of the Dragon-stones spread throughout the field and take them to the central tower. (Quantity may be adjusted for field size) They can be dropped into the tower, and players don’t need to climb to place them.

Woodsfolk Objective: Stop Them

Respawn: 45 on death (may be adjusted for team size)
We’ll run the game for 15 minutes, take a water break, then swap sides and run it back. Whichever team defends for the longer time wins.

---------------------------------

Game 2: The Heart of a Giant
Story: The Giants are stirring, and both teams are trying to get them to your side. With the tower activated, each side has the remaining dragonstones at their chest.

Terrain: Same as last time, but now spellcasters in the central tower gain access to Extension 1/Life, Charge x3

Objective: Steal the enemy team’s dragonstone. Once it returns to your chest, you summon one giant to your aid (you become the giant). Es**rt the giant to the other team’s stash, then to the giant’s throne to win.

Respawn: 45 on death (may be adjusted for team size)

Monster(s):
Giants Have the following traits:
- Strong – all melee attacks are shield crushing & armor breaking (SCAB)
- 3 Points Natural Magic Armor (if none worn) – they have 3 points of armor that can be healed
- Thick Skin – your armor is immune to armor breaking & destroying.

We’ll run this game for 20ish minutes, or until one team wins, then take a water break

---------------------------------

Game 3: Slay the Giants:
Terrain: Same as before
Objective: Each team has a handful of players who are giants. Giants have 5 lives (4 respawns). Shatter the enemy team’s giants to win.
Respawn: 45 on death (may be adjusted for team size)

---------------------------------

Also, Declarations will be opening this Saturday for our Endreign Elections (Monarch, Regent, & Champion)! You must be a citizen to run (a dues paid adult, been active at least 3 months, with 6+ sign-ins over the past 6 month)

In Service,
Screech Unloved – ELW Champion

TLDR:
Warmup: Warlord
Game 1: collect the things/chasm battle
Game 2: CTF then Es**rt the VIP
Game 3: kill the giants VIP
Dues Paid Lunch: BBQ!
Announcements: Declarations open for Endreign Elections Saturday!

Good Morning Woodsfolk!

Here’s the Games planned for park tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing you all at McCallum Park at 11am!

Warmup: Militia Ring the Bell – touch the back end of the enemy team’s goal to win. Armor & SCAB (Shield Crushing/Armor Breaking) counts, but magic doesn’t. Respawn is touch & go at the back line.

Game 1: Goblin Ball
Story: The raiders have found a group of goblins they wish to sway to their side, but we showed up to remind them who the original monsters in the woods are. Their goblin king has organized a spectacle of games to his amusement, with the champion gaining his favor, and his army.
Objective: Push the “Goblin Ball” through the opposing team’s goal. The ball is large, and cannot be handled barehanded. The boo-yahg in the ball kills whoever touches it (If the ball touches you, you’re dead. Weapons/Shields are ok, just don’t abuse my ball). First to 5 wins, unless rounds take a while.
Terrain: A rectangular field with 2 goals on opposite ends. Edges of the field and the walls of the goals are hard boundaries. The “penalty boxes” at the back of each end are where dead players go to wait to return to the game.
Respawn: Let’s get spicy with wave respawns every minute

Game 2: Goblin Hockey
Story: another goblin game to appease the goblin king
Objective: Pickup the “Puck” and carry it into the back of the enemy team’s goal. The Puck is a small shield that is affected as per imbue shield. If your class is not proficient with shields, or you have not purchased a shield as a caster, shots to the shield count as if they hit your arm. Like all game items, it is dropped on death, and cannot be wielded or held while frozen, insubstantial, or stunned.
Special: Each team has a “goblin goalie,” who in addition to their normal class abilities has 3 points of magic armor (or their class maximum), and has Sheer Numbers (Unlimited)
Respawn: minute waves (may adjust for team size)

Sheer Numbers: Verbal, Spirit, Self, “Avenge Me” immediately after dying. You return to life, with all non-persistent enchantments removed, & all carried equipment repaired. You become insubstantial, and cannot end that state within 10ft of a living enemy. You must stay within 50ft of where you died while insubstantial.

Game 3: Slay the King
Story: The goblin king has been persuaded to join your side with his goblin army. However, an imposter king has impersonated the true king and joined the other side! Defend your king, and slay the imposter to sway the goblins to your side!
Objective: Slay the enemy team’s Goblin King. The king has all the goalie features of the last game, except Sheer numbers is 1/Life instead. The Goalie has 3 lives (2 respawns). (This means if your team has a way to inflict cursed, you better use it)
Note: Sheer numbers and enchantments or other goalie abilities to stop death do not count towards the goalie’s number of lives, but resurrections do count towards their number of lives.
Respawn: minute waves (may adjust for team size)

If at any point, mother nature decides to rain on our parade, we have been invited to Valhalla Board Gaming Café for their 2nd anniversary celebration. So, pack a change of garb in case you get wet and muddy, and maybe a small craft to show off at Valhalla.

Also, park elections open in about a week with declarations starting June 6th! If you want to run for office or vote, you must be a citizen (be an adult, dues paid, attended 6 times in the past 6 months, and be a member at least 3 months)

TLDR:
warmup: ditch
Game 1: goblin ball
Game 2: battle hockey
Game 3: Kill the VIP Goblin
Afters: Valhalla Board Game Café
Upcoming: Elections Declarations open June 6th!

In Service,
Screech Unloved, ELW Champion

Howdy Woodsfolk, here’s the games and activities planned for this Saturday!
Hope to see y’all at McCallum Park at 11am!
3332 Rosemary Ln, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216

Dues Paid Brunch: Burgers & Hot Dogs with Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans, & Green Beans.
Dues are $6, last for 6 months, and allow you to vote/run for park & kingdom office.

Warmup: Bear pits to start, then ditch

Class Game 1: "Blood for the Blood God"
Lore: in a swampy bog deep in the woods, a group of the raiders has made camp around an ancient temple to a long-dead god. Rumors say some great weapon is trapped within, that they seek to free and use against our great woods. Let’s go free this weapon, and use it to drive back the raiders that sacked our great woods.
Terrain: The “temple” consists of 2 set of U-shaped walls, designating the inner and outer temples. Walls block line of sight and melee/projectiles. If you step through a wall, you are crushed to death, but forced movement causes you to slide against the walls.
Objective: Every 3 minutes, a reeve will call “Blood for the blood god!” at which point, all players inside the center of the temple will die, each scoring one point for their team. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins. Time will be at least 15 minutes, but may be adjusted for team size, and tiebreakers will be in 3-minute increments.
Respawn: 60 on death (may adjust for team size)

Class Game 2: "Got any Eggs?"
Lore: Turns out the “Weapon” was a hydra, and that’s not a weapon. But hey, its eggs are worth their weight in gold, let’s steal those before the hydra can kill us all.
Terrain: Same as before
Objective: steal eggs from the hydra or the other team. Whichever team has the most eggs at the end wins.
Monster: The hydra consists of multiple sections, with players representing the body, heads, and tail. If you are killed by one of the original parts of the hydra, you respawn for your next life as a member of the hydra team, but are cursed & suppressed while acting as a hydra head. Once slain as a head, you return to your original team.
Respawn: Woodsfolk & Raiders Teams have 60 on death, Hydra sections have a half count respawn.

Class Game 3: "To make an omelet"
Lore: Uh oh, momma’s mad we took her eggs. If it’s not the consequences of my own actions.
Terrain: Same as before
Objective: Slay the Hydra for good. Some of her eggs are still around, maybe players can use those to draw her out of the temple?
Respawn: same as before. The Hydra’s body will have a set number of lives before it’s shattered.

In Service,
Screech Unloved

TLDR:
Hot Dogs Dues Paid Brunch
Warmup: Bear Pit/Ditch
Game 1: Hold the Center with death to score
Game 2: Collect the Things
Game 3: Boss Battle (Slay the Hydra)
