What can a year of focused leadership development do for your nonprofit?

For past graduates of our Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI), it meant:
✅ $30,000 in additional major donor support
✅ A new $750K endowment
✅ Fresh strategic plans

Applications for NELI 2027 are now open. Over 10 cohort sessions (December 2026–October 2027), rising nonprofit leaders learn from top subject matter experts and collaborate with peers across Alabama’s nonprofit sector.

When Prodisee Pantry Executive Director Deann Servos reached out to USDA Rural Development this summer for funding help with an expansion project, she didn't expect it to open doors all the way to Alabama's USDA leadership and staff who are connected to Senator Katie Britt and Representative Barry Moore. Now those relationships are actively helping her pursue funding for Prodisee Pantry's expansion in rural Baldwin County — connections Deann credits directly to AAN's advocacy training.

What does Alabama’s new HB 248 mean for nonprofits?

The 2026 legislation updates the Alabama Business and Nonprofit Entities Code and clarifies several important areas of nonprofit governance and compliance.

Most importantly, nonprofit leaders should understand the December 31, 2026 opt-out deadline and determine whether any action is needed.
