Harley (our wild child rescue) wasted absolutely no time claiming it as her own—within 30 seconds it was covered in slobber and officially hers. 😂

BARU IS OFFICIALLY HOME!! 🏡🐾

The only time we ever like to use the word “failure” is when it comes to foster families… because sometimes they fail in the absolute BEST way possible.

After opening their hearts and home to Baru as an emergency foster, they completely fell in love… and so did their pups.

Today, we are beyond excited to announce that Baru has officially been ADOPTED by his foster family! ❤️

Watching this boy transform has been nothing short of incredible. From an uncertain future, surgery, and learning to trust again… to finding the people who saw him for exactly who he is—a goofy, loving, cuddly boy who simply needed patience, structure, and someone to believe in him.

His new family gave him that chance.

And Baru repaid them the only way he knew how… by stealing their hearts. 🥹

To his amazing adopters, thank you for saying “yes” to forever. Thank you for seeing past the transition, understanding that decompression is real, and giving Baru exactly what every rescue dog deserves—a place to call home.

💔 STILL NOT A SINGLE INQUIRY FOR BARU 💔

We truly can’t believe this sweet boy is still waiting.

Now is the PERFECT time to welcome a new family member into your home. Beautiful weather, long walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of opportunities to help a rescue dog settle into his new life.

Baru is doing AMAZING in his foster home. Every day he grows more confident, more relaxed, and more loving. He thrives with structure, consistency, and guidance. He loves cuddling, playing fetch, and being as close to his people as possible.

But this isn’t his forever home.

The longer we wait, the harder it will be when he has to start the decompression process all over again in his forever home. Dogs aren’t machines—they need time to adjust, learn new routines, and build trust. Baru has shown us that when he’s given patience and structure, he flourishes.

Whether he’s your one-and-only or joins a home with well-balanced dogs that respect boundaries, this boy has so much love to give.

💙 BIG NEWS FOR HARLEY! 💙

After three successful heartworm treatments, Harley officially tested HEARTWORM NEGATIVE! 🎉🐾

This spunky one-year-old girl celebrated the best way she knows how… by taking a swim in the pond with Dozer and supervising the ducks. 🦆💦

We are so incredibly proud of how far she has come, both physically and emotionally. She is finally getting to be the puppy she has always wanted to be.

But I want to share something important…

Harley has been with us since February, and decompression is still very much a thing. She still has moments. She is still learning. She never really got the chance to just be a puppy, much like Baru.

Every day she continues to adjust to life with two other dogs, two ducks and a goose, endless wildlife, a busy household, a teenager and her friends, motorcycles, power tools, tractors, and all the other chaos that comes with normal life. None of it happened overnight.

Healing—both physically and emotionally—takes time.

Rescue dogs don’t come with an “easy” button. They come with baggage, fears, and experiences we may never fully know. What they need most is patience, structure, commitment, and someone willing to show them that not everyone in this world is an as***le.

And that’s why I share Harley’s story.

Because I hope someone sees her transformation and understands that dogs like Baru deserve that same chance. ❤️

Baru doesn’t need perfection. He needs a person willing to give him time. Someone who understands that decompression is real, that trust is earned, and that love isn’t built in a day.

Watching Harley become the dog she was always meant to be has been one of the greatest rewards.

I know Baru’s person is out there.

They just haven’t found him yet. ❤️🐾

🚨 STILL NO INQUIRIES FOR BARU 💔

We’re honestly at a loss.

This sweet boy continues to be overlooked, and we truly don’t understand why. He is SUCH a good dog.

His amazing foster family says he continues to do better and better every day. He loves to cuddle, sleep under the blankets (or preferably ON TOP of you 😂), play fetch, and just be with his people.

Baru absolutely could be someone’s one-and-only best friend. ❤️

He also enjoys other dogs, but what he needs are dogs with boundaries, structure, and manners. The two female dogs he’s currently living with have those things, and he is doing wonderfully with them.

Decompression is real.

Dogs are not robots. They don’t walk into a new home perfect on day one. They need time, patience, structure, and reassurance. Baru has been bounced around enough, and when he finally finds his forever family, he deserves the chance to settle in and decompress for the LAST time.

This boy has so much love to give.

✔️ Healing beautifully from surgery
✔️ Thriving with structure

Baru’s follow-up vet appointment after his tail amputation went AMAZING! His veterinary team was so excited to see him, and he was just as excited to see them. His tail is healing beautifully… even though Mr. Baru decided to remove some of his own stitches before they could. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

His foster family continues to tell us what an incredible dog he is.

❤️ Loves to cuddle
❤️ Loves sleeping under blankets
❤️ Wants to sleep ON TOP of his humans
❤️ Loves belly rubs and affection
❤️ Loves playing fetch and chasing balls
❤️ Listens well and responds to structure
❤️ Is goofy, loving, and full of personality

Most importantly, he is continuing to decompress and settle in.

And that’s something we really need potential adopters to understand.

DECOMPRESSION IS REAL.

Dogs do not come into a new home perfectly adjusted overnight. They need time, patience, structure, reassurance, and consistency. Baru has already been through multiple transitions, and sadly, he will need to go through one more when he finds his forever family.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t a great dog.

It means he’s a dog with feelings who needs time to feel safe.

His amazing foster family has done an incredible job helping him learn that the world isn’t so scary. We’ve watched him become more relaxed, more confident, and more comfortable every week.

Now it’s time to find the family that will be his last stop.

While Baru enjoys other dogs, we would absolutely consider him as someone’s one-and-only best friend. Give this boy a ball to chase, a couch to cuddle on, a warm bed, and a human to love, and he’ll be the happiest dog in the world.

🚨 STILL WAITING… BARU NEEDS HIS FOREVER FAMILY 🚨

Every day that passes, Baru settles in a little more.

Every day, he trusts a little more.

Every day, he shows us more of the dog he was always meant to be. ❤️

And every day, our hearts break a little knowing that he still doesn’t have a place to call his own.

We are beyond grateful for his incredible emergency foster family. They have given him patience, structure, understanding, and love during one of the most difficult transitions of his life. But emergency foster care was never meant to be permanent. Baru deserves a family that is HIS.

A family where he never has to wonder where he’s sleeping next.

A family where he can finally exhale.

A family where he can stop surviving and simply start living.

The updates from foster continue to be amazing:

🐾 He absolutely LOVES people.
🐾 He wants to sleep under the blankets and as close to his humans as possible.
🐾 Half the time he tries to sleep directly ON TOP of them.
🐾 He loves belly rubs, cuddles, and being included in everything.
🐾 He is playful, goofy, and full of personality.
🐾 Fetch is one of his favorite games and a great way to burn energy.
🐾 He is listening well, learning routines, and thriving with consistency.
🐾 He is healing nicely from his surgery.

One thing we wish more people understood is that decompression is real.

Dogs coming from stressful situations don’t arrive perfectly adjusted. They need time. They need guidance. They need reassurance. They need someone willing to see who they are underneath the stress.

Baru has already shown tremendous growth simply because someone gave him that chance.

As much as he enjoys other dogs, we would absolutely consider him as someone’s one-and-only best friend. Give this boy his toys, his ball, a comfy couch, a warm bed, and a human to love, and he will be in heaven.

He doesn’t need perfection.

He needs commitment.

He needs stability.

He needs someone willing to say:

“You’re home now.”

Baru is STILL searching for the home he deserves. While we are incredibly thankful for his amazing emergency foster family, we truly want this boy to finally settle into his forever home so he can fully decompress and stop being bounced around. 💔

The updates from his foster have honestly been incredible. ❤️

🐾 Baru LOVES his humans.
🐾 He wants to sleep ON you, under the blankets, and snuggle as close as physically possible.
🐾 He is goofy, affectionate, playful, and so eager to love and be loved.
🐾 He absolutely LOVES fetch and playing ball — it’s one of his favorite things and a great outlet for his energy.
🐾 He gets adorable zoomies and has the funniest personality.
🐾 He listens well to commands and is responding beautifully to structure and guidance.
🐾 He’s healing nicely from his tail amputation surgery.

Also something VERY important that people often fail to understand about rescue dogs:

✨ DECOMPRESSION IS REAL. ✨

Dogs are not robots. Even professionally trained dogs will not walk into a new home perfectly adjusted overnight. They have feelings, fears, stress, insecurities, and trauma just like humans do. Baru came from chaos, instability, and constant stress. In the beginning, he was clearly on edge and protective over toys and food because he was scared and unsure.

Now that he’s settling in and realizing he is SAFE, those behaviors are already improving tremendously. He has been sharing toys more appropriately, playing nicely with the foster dogs, responding to corrections, and becoming more relaxed every single day.

At this point, while Baru truly does love other dogs, we honestly would not mind him being someone’s one-and-only best friend either. A home where he gets:
❤️ ALL the toys
❤️ ALL the belly rubs
❤️ ALL the cuddles
❤️ ALL the reassurance and love

…might honestly be exactly what this boy needs.

He thrives with:
✔️ Structure
✔️ Guidance
✔️ Patience
✔️ Calm leadership
✔️ Consistency
✔️ Love

This dog deserves the BEST home in the world. Truly. He has been through so much and still continues to love with his whole heart.

While we are incredibly thankful that Baru is currently safe in an AMAZING emergency foster home, this is still only temporary. What this boy truly needs is stability, consistency, and a forever family so he can finally decompress for the LAST time and just be a dog. 🥺

The good news?
❤️ Baru is healing nicely from his tail amputation surgery.
❤️ He is settling in well in foster care.
❤️ He absolutely LOVES people and wants nothing more than to cuddle, snuggle under blankets, and be in your lap.
❤️ He has been playful, affectionate, goofy, and incredibly loving.

His foster family has been wonderful working with him and learning his needs. Like many dogs who have experienced stress, instability, and constant transitions, Baru has shown some protectiveness over food (only with dogs- not humans) while decompressing. His foster parents are doing an amazing job with structure and working through some of these quirky things. Because of this, we are looking for a home that understands structure, management, and setting dogs up for success — NOT punishment.

Honestly, a lot of what we are seeing feels rooted in insecurity and overstimulation from everything this poor boy has been through. Every single move and life change has forced him to stay in survival mode instead of truly relaxing and feeling safe.

Despite all of that, Baru continues to show us over and over again what a GOOD dog he is. ❤️

He plays nicely outside, loves affection, listens well with guidance, and just wants connection and acceptance. He would thrive in a home willing to provide:
✔️ Structure
✔️ Clear boundaries
✔️ Proper introductions
✔️ Patience while he decompresses
✔️ Lots of love and cuddles

At this point, we truly want to avoid continuing to bounce him around. The longer he stays in limbo, the harder it becomes for him emotionally. He deserves permanence. He deserves peace. He deserves HIS people.
