250th Patriotic Preservation - Update
Thanks to the Grave Geeks volunteers who took broken pieces of a headstone and constructed a new monument.
The reconstructed monument of Fedelia Dubois resembled the broken pieces of her husband Abraham's stone before the Grave Geeks provided their expertise.

250th Patriot Preservation Progress
Another beautiful headstone restoration by the Grave Geeks. Pieces of the marble marker of Delight Dubois had been embedded in the ground before it was repaired and placed on a new base.
Delight Burrows traveled with the Eldridge family from Groton, CT, to Vestal, arriving about 1795. She married Daniel DuBois, also an early pioneer of Vestal. The DuBois family established an early saw mill and grist mill near the Choconut Creek and Susquehanna River.

250th Preservation Project - Update
The headstone of Silas G Vincent (1789-1860) has been tagged for future repair. Vincent was born in Rensselaer Co. and later moved to Cobleskill, where he married Abigail Kennicut and was a magistrate. He continued the occupation when the couple moved to Vestal in 1850. After Vincent died in 1860, his wife lived with her son-in-law, Charles Fox, a Vestal wagonmaker and owner of a carriage shop.

250th Preservation progress
The broken headstone of "Anna," found on the ground and snow-covered, has been repaired and given a new base. Anna Church was born in 1787 at Newport, R.I., where her father and grandfather served in the Revolutionary War. She married John Baker of Bennington, VT, and they moved to Spencer, NY before 1810. The 1850 census finds Anna living in Vestal with her son and his family, while her husband resides with another family in Richford, NY. Anna died in 1851 and is buried at the Vestal Park Cemetery

Progress updates on the 250th Patriot Preservation project. The Grave Geeks selected the stone of Mary J Seeley, which had broken and was lying flat on the ground. A new base was made, and the stone is now standing. The Seeley family came to Vestal from Ridgefield, CT, where grandfather Sylvanus Seeley served during the Revolution.
