We have a special thank-you for Jon, Alaina, and the Red Barn Creative Team!

They designed and printed two custom Pokémon decals for River's room project. The decals feature River’s favorite Pokémon, Gyarados and Vaporeon. They were the perfect finishing touch for his room and made the space even more personal.

Thank you for sharing your creativity and helping us create a room River loves!

Coby’s room was truly a team effort, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped bring it together!

Andreea, Andrew, and Kathy assembled furniture ahead of time, which made it possible for us to complete the room in just one day. On Sunday, Danielle, Hayden, Jo, Kathy, Michelle, Beth, and Wendy worked hard assembling beds, hanging wallpaper, decorating, and adding all the special details that made the room feel complete.

Thank you to Brushes Over Broome for painting the room, Stevens Paint & Blinds for donating paint, and Ahwaga Paint & Floor Coverings for installing the new flooring. Their work gave us a fresh, bright foundation for the transformation.

We are also incredibly grateful to the Floyd Ho**er Foundation for providing grant funding that helped make Coby’s project possible.

So many people played a part in creating this special space for Coby and his brothers, and it turned out wonderfully. Thank you to everyone who shared their time, talents, and support!

Coby's Spiderman bedroom is complete! 🕷️❤️

Earlier this year, Coby was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Since returning home from the hospital, he has been working hard in physical, occupational, and speech therapy to regain his strength and heal from all he has been through. We wanted to give him a space that he loves where he can rest, recover, and enjoy being a kid.

Because Coby shares his room with his big brother, Billy, and little brother, Charlie, we made sure the new space celebrated all three boys. Coby received the Spider-Man bedroom he dreamed of, Billy’s bunk was decorated with Sonic décor, and Charlie’s bed received a Bluey makeover.

Thank you to Brushes Over Broome for painting the room and to Stevens Paint & Blinds for donating the paint. The space feels so fresh and bright!

We are also incredibly grateful to Ahwaga Paint and Floor Coverings for donating the materials and labor to replace the carpet. The new vinyl plank flooring is durable and easy to clean, helping to create a healthier space for Coby.

Perhaps the best part of this reveal came later that night. Coby had not slept in his own room since returning from the hospital, but after seeing his new bedroom, at bedtime he climbed into his own bed and fell right to sleep. ❤️

We are so glad we could create this special space for three wonderful boys. We hope Coby’s new room brings him comfort, strength, and lots of joy as he continues to heal.

Stay tuned for more photos and more thank yous!!!

A healing space does not always have to be inside four walls. For Lee, it is found beside the family pond, surrounded by nature and with a fishing rod in hand.

These photos offer a closer look at the work that went into transforming this special area. A local contractor and his team volunteered their time to add an aeration fountain, natural stone walkway and patio, a circular fire pit, and a firewood rack. A Room to Heal volunteers added comfortable seating, side tables, solar lighting, outdoor music, fishing accessories, and other finishing touches.

A special thank you to A Room to Heal co-founder Linda Salomons, who led this project. Linda’s son, Eric, was the inspiration for the founding of A Room to Heal. It was especially fitting to have Eric, his brother Brian, and their dad, David, help bring Lee’s healing space to life by assembling his new outdoor furniture.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, talents, and support to create a comfortable place where Lee and his family can relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time together.

Take a look through the photos to see the project from beginning to end. 💙

Last night we had the privilege of revealing a healing outdoor space for a very special teen.

Lee is a 15-year-old rising junior at Vestal High School. He is a swimmer, musician, lifeguard, and outdoorsman who loves fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and boating.

After Lee was diagnosed with Stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in October 2025, the family pond became an especially peaceful place for him to fish, reflect, and spend time surrounded by nature. When his cancer recently returned, we knew we wanted to make this special place even more comfortable for Lee and his family.

With the help of a local contractor, dedicated community volunteers, and Project Lead Linda Salomons, the pond area was transformed with an aeration fountain, natural stone walkway and patio, circular fire pit, custom-made firewood rack, comfortable outdoor seating, solar lighting, outdoor Bluetooth speaker, and so many other special touches. Lee also received a new fishing rod and accessories from his wish list.

We hope this space gives Lee and his family a peaceful place to relax, make memories, and enjoy time together as he begins his next course of treatment.

💜 One of our room kids could use some extra thoughts and prayers right now. Lee has rhabdomyosarcoma and is going through a rough patch.

Any prayers, love, and strength you can send his way would be appreciated. 💕 I’m sure his parents could use some, too!
