June 14 is Flag Day.

It marks the day in 1777 when the Second Continental Congress adopted the American flag as the official flag of the United States.

Since then, the flag has become more than a symbol. It represents the freedoms we enjoy, the unity of our nation, and the sacrifice of the men and women who have served to protect it.

Every stripe tells part of the story.
Every star represents a state in the union.
And every time we raise the flag, we are reminded that freedom has always come at a cost.

Flag Day is a chance to pause and reflect on what the American flag stands for courage, service, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of this country.

At TVP, we believe the flag should always point us back to gratitude. Gratitude for those who served. Gratitude for those we’ve lost. And gratitude for the freedoms we should never take for granted.

🇺🇸 Today, we Honor the flag and all it represents.

Today, we proudly honor our partners at The American Legion National Headquarters —a steadfast force for veterans, service members, families, and communities since 1919. Chartered by Congress after World War I, The American Legion has become one of the nation’s most influential veterans service organizations, with more than 1.6 million members in over 12,000 posts worldwide.

We are deeply honored to stand alongside an organization whose legacy has helped shape the very fabric of veteran support in America. Over the years, The American Legion played a leading role in drafting the original GI Bill, helped establish the foundations of the U.S. Flag Code, supported the dedication of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and built enduring youth programs such as American Legion Baseball and Boys State.

Their story is one of service beyond self—of veterans continuing to serve long after the uniform is folded away. Through advocacy, patriotism, youth mentorship, and unwavering support for those who have borne the battle, The American Legion has carried the torch of duty with dignity for more than a century.

At Taps for Veterans, we are grateful for your partnership, your example, and your enduring commitment to honoring those who served. It is a privilege to support a veteran service organization whose work has touched generations and whose mission still rings true today.

Thank you, American Legion, for all you have done—and all you continue to do—for God and Country. 🇺🇸
