At the Fire Department, serving our community goes beyond responding to emergency calls. Recently, we were honored to assist The Villas of Vesper with the installation of a new flagpole after they reached out for help. We are proud to serve our community in many ways, both on and off emergency scenes. Whether it's responding to emergencies, assisting with community projects, or simply lending a helping hand, we are committed to supporting the people we serve. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this project and for the opportunity to continue making a positive impact in our community!

Congratulations!!

Today we had 32 Firefighter 1 and 16 Firefighter 2 candidates successfully complete their certification testing. We also had a visit from a class of firefighter candidates from the Amherst Fire District that needed their entry-level firefighter live burn to complete their requirements for their class. Our instructors shifted gears from testing to teaching and got those students accommodated. They were also a great group and we congratulate them on completing their ELFF class. The weather was beautiful and everyone did a great job. A special thank you to our instructors for their hard work keeping everything moving and providing a fair and efficient exam. Your hard work is not unnoticed. Thank you also to our state representatives for their oversight of our exam. Students today were sponsored by the following agencies:

The North Central Chiefs Association proudly recognizes Dennis on his retirement as Chief of the Vesper Volunteer Fire Department after an incredible 36 years of dedicated leadership and service.

For more than three decades, Dennis has demonstrated unwavering commitment to his department, firefighters, and community. His leadership, mentorship, and passion for the fire service have left a lasting impact on countless lives and helped shape the department into what it is today.

Thank you, Chief Dennis, for your years of sacrifice, dedication, and service to the citizens of Vesper and the surrounding communities. Your legacy of leadership and commitment will not be forgotten. We wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement.

At EMS training this week, our members learned about Aspirin and Albuterol. Two life-saving medications that were recently added to our toolbox. Expanding our skills and resources allows us to provide even better care to those we serve. We are proud to remain dedicated to helping our community, advancing our training, and continuously improving the level of care we provide every day.

On Monday May 11th the Vesper Vol. Fire Department took delivery of three new 4-gas meters. These meters allow our members to monitor for dangerous atmospheric conditions in the form of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Oxygen Levels (O2), Combustible gases (LEL). It is essential to monitor the atmosphere during structure fires, confined space incidents, farm rescue, and many other alarm type calls. The Vesper Vol. Fire Department is very thankful to receive a generous donation of $2,000.00 from the Mike Brock Memorial Ride. This donation funded 100% of the upgrade to the health and safety of our members and community.
