Legacy Gymcats & Shining Stars Equestrians This FB page is for our Special Olympics Kentucky Legacy Gymcats Gymnastics & Shining Star Equestrians. We welcome anyone to contact us for more information.

Our Legacy Gymcats participate in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, & our Shining Stars Team participates in equestrian events. The Gymcats are a Special Olympics Gymnastics Team that compete in Artistic Gymnastics in the fall season with the State Competition held in November every year. The athletes also compete in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the spring season with the State Competition held in June

every year. Our gymnasts have competed at the local, state, national and international levels! We also have our Shining Stars Equestrian Program that competes at the Special Olympics State Equestrian Games in October. Our riders compete in a Barkley of disciplines including the Showmanship at Halter/Bridle class, Western Equitation & Working Trails classes, & English Equitation & Working Trails classes. Some of the riders compete in assisted events (with a handler for safety), while others compete unassisted.

We've been coming to Richmond for 31 years, most of those with Visit Richmond KY helping sponsor the State Summer Games. But Richmond has so much more to offer than being a great Special Olympics host. Richmond truly has something for everyone - from history experiences to museums to outdoor activities, Richmond has what you are looking for for a day trip or a long weekend away. Come back when the Games are over and see all Richmond has in store for you!
