Life Adventure Center Life Adventure Center uses outdoor adventure to build resilience and change lives.

Life Adventure Center uses outdoor adventure to transform lives affected by trauma and build more resilient people for a better world. We use the natural environment to help individuals affected by trauma cope with and overcome cognitive, behavioral, and social challenges. We prioritize an experiential process that emphasizes building resilience through goal setting, personal decision-making, accountability, and developing positive behaviors. Connecting with purpose! 🌲🤝

Last week, Life Adventure Center team members Virginia, Megan, Garet, Julie, and Aaron visited the Save A Warrior (SAW) campus in Ohio where they were joined by LAC and SAW mutual friend Terry.

Save A Warrior is a peer‑led, intensive, and long‑term support program that offers a unique, holistic path to healing for those in the military, veterans and first responders.

Our visit provided a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and explore potential future collaborative efforts. Thank you to the Save A Warrior team for an inspiring visit and for your dedication to serving those who serve us.

We are so excited to share that our very own Executive Director, Julie Breitigan, will be the featured keynote speaker and presenter at the upcoming Fayette County Public Schools Early Childhood Summit! 🌟

Julie will be presenting on HOPE (Healthy Outcomes for Positive Experiences), bringing invaluable insights to early childhood educators across central Kentucky.

Program team member Maombi and KSU practicum student Kailyn represented LAC at the event, sharing vital community resources, connecting with local families, and enjoying the afternoon's festivities.

Community partnerships in action! 🌿

We were thrilled to welcome back recently the team from VF Distribution Center (Danville) to the Life Adventure Center campus. During their volunteer day, they rolled up their sleeves to restore and paint one of our campus bird blinds.

Upgrades like this directly enhance our outdoor spaces, giving the individuals and groups we serve an inviting environment to connect with nature and experience experiential learning.

We're excited to host the Nature Connection & Social Prescribing Workshop with facilitator Carolyn Schuyler this November. Participants will learn practical, trauma-informed approaches that promote relational safety, address loneliness, and support healthier communities.

Ending our daily canine co-worker highlights with the adorable Maya! 🐶✨

This sweet, silly 2-year-old German Shepherd–Rottweiler mix accompanies Ben to the office from time to time. Whether she's swimming, sleeping upside down, or springing into the air like a deer when she's excited, Maya brings non-stop energy to the team.

Her biggest feat yet? A fearless 25-foot leap off Jump Rock at Red River Gorge! 🌊⛰️

Workplace wellness looks a little sweeter around here! 🐾

Today, we’re excited to introduce Archer—a 9-year-old Cockapoo who comes to work with Paige and serves as an honorary Life Adventure Center team member.

Archer is the definition of "goodest boy." Armed with gentle manners and a heart of gold, he provides incredible emotional support to our team throughout the day. From unannounced lap-snuggles to rounds of desk visits, Archer ensures everyone gets a boost of joy right when they need it most.
