Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Summer Subsidy from August 3 - September 11, 2026, to help offset cooling costs with a one-time electric benefit. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or until funds are depleted.

Interested households should contact their local Community Action Agency, based on county of residence, to determine eligibility and complete the application process. To locate the office serving your county, visit www.capky.org/network or call 800-456-3452.

Households must meet eligibility requirements, including household income of up to and including 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to qualify for assistance. Benefits are paid directly to the household’s electric vendor.

No disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice is required to apply. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility.

✨ COMMUNITY SUPPORT REQUEST ✨

At Unity Outreach, we believe difficult seasons are not meant to be faced alone. Today, we are asking our community to come together for a local Versailles resident who is currently facing an urgent hardship.

This mother and grandmother has spent years working beyond what her health could safely handle just to provide for herself and avoid asking for help. Now, after worsening medical conditions including emphysema, COPD, fibromyalgia, severe chronic back pain, and possible upcoming knee replacements, she has reached a point where she can no longer carry the weight alone.

She is currently facing:• Possible electric disconnection• Imminent eviction from the townhome she has lived in for 17 years• Mounting medical and living expenses while awaiting Social Security retirement and disability assistance

Her daughter and family are doing everything they can to help while also trying to remain financially stable themselves. They are actively searching for housing that would allow her to move in with them permanently so she does not have to continue navigating this alone.

This family has asked that we protect her privacy and dignity during this difficult time, and we kindly ask the community to do the same. Verification documents for the electric and rental notices are available, and any assistance can be paid directly to the utility company or property management.
