June is National PTSD Awareness Month
No One Fights Alone.
June is recognized as National PTSD Awareness Month, a time dedicated to educating our communities, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, and ensuring those impacted by trauma know they are not alone.
At The Chief Mason Griffith Foundation, we see firsthand how trauma affects not only first responders, veterans, dispatchers, corrections officers, healthcare workers, and frontline personnel—but also road crews, utility workers, tow operators, public works employees, community members, spouses, children, friends, and entire support systems.
Behind every emergency call, traffic incident, disaster response, tragic loss, workplace accident, or traumatic event is a person carrying memories that often remain unseen.
PTSD is not a sign of weakness.
It is a human response to extraordinary experiences.
It can affect anyone who has endured trauma, including:

🎖️ Veterans and Military Personnel

Many suffer in silence because they fear judgment, embarrassment, or being seen differently. That silence often leads to isolation, strained relationships, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and in some cases, su***de.
We Must Break the Stigma
We must create communities where asking for help is viewed as strength, not weakness.
We must support not only those who serve, but also the families and communities who walk beside them every day.
That is why TCMGF is expanding support resources and exploring new community programs focused on:
✅ Trauma Recovery and Support
✅ Marriage Restoration and Family Strengthening
✅ Grief and Loss Recovery
✅ Mental Health Education and Resources
✅ Su***de Prevention and Awareness
✅ Peer Support and Community Connections
✅ Building Resilience and Hope
✅ Support for First Responders, Veterans, Road Crews, and Community Members
Healing Begins When We Walk Together
Our goal is simple:
To ensure that no individual, no family, and no community has to fight these battles alone.
As part of this effort, we are partnering with local faith-based organizations, community groups, mental health advocates, and service organizations to develop support groups, educational workshops, recovery resources, and opportunities for healing.
These programs will be open to everyone. You do not need to be a member of any church, organization, or group to participate.
