The Verona Area Chamber of Commerce office will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks the anniversary of the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Today, it is recognized as a day to celebrate freedom, reflect on our shared history, and honor the contributions of Black Americans to our communities and country.

As an organization dedicated to building community and supporting local businesses, we recognize that strong communities are built when people feel welcomed, valued, and included. Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on that progress while honoring the history that made it necessary.

Verona homeowners are a pretty savvy bunch. After all, you don't survive Wisconsin winters without learning a thing or two about home maintenance. 😄

You already know to mow the lawn, pull the weeds, and keep an eye on the air conditioner. But what about the projects that quietly move to the bottom of the to-do list every summer?

☀️Summer is officially underway, and we want to know: how Verona are you?

We may be only a few weeks into summer, but we're willing to bet some of you are already halfway to a bingo (or a "verona" in this instance).

From Concerts in the Park to Hometown Days, Fireman's Park Beach to the Military Ridge Trail, this card is packed with some of our favorite Verona summer traditions.

Well, Wisconsin won Round 1. 🌧️

After last week's weather had other plans, we're officially kicking off the 2026 Concerts in the Park season this Thursday with Taylor & Von!

So dust off those lawn chairs, pack a few snacks, and join us at Century School Park from 6:00–8:00 PM for an evening of live music, community, and hopefully much friendlier skies.

Taylor & Von are known for their energetic performances and crowd-favorite covers spanning decades of hits—perfect for singing along with neighbors, friends, and anyone else who wandered over after hearing the music.

And don't worry—we haven't forgotten about Elizabeth Mary! Her concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 27, so you'll still have a chance to catch her later this summer.

UPDATE: We have rescheduled this performance for August 27th so mark your calendars!

If this were just a little rain, we'd tell you to grab an umbrella and come on down.

Unfortunately, tonight's forecast is bringing the kind of weather that makes outdoor events a risk, so we've made the call to cancel tonight's Concert in the Park.

We know that's not the news anyone wanted to hear. Summer evenings, great music, and gathering with the community are what these concerts are all about. But making sure everyone gets home safely has to come first.

Thank you for understanding, and here's hoping Mother Nature is a little more cooperative next time.

How very Wisconsin. Before the severe thunderstorm, the chamber got together for our final networking lunch of the season, where a popular comment was complaining how hot and sticky it was 😅

Anyone can remember a lawn chair and sunglasses. But Concerts in the Park veterans know the real pro tips: bug spray, a power bank, a deck of cards, bubbles for the kids, and the sweatshirt you insist you won't need until 7:45 PM.

Because this is Wisconsin, after all. The evening could be 82°, 62°, breezy, sunny, and perfect—all in the same concert.

A huge thank you to Ian's Pizza Verona for an incredibly generous surprise this week!

As part of their team training, Ian’s had about 30 pizzas available and reached out to see if we could put them to good use. Instead of letting those delicious pizzas go to waste, they delivered them right to the Chamber office.

We invited our staff and families, City of Verona parks crew, Verona Police Department, and Verona Fire Department to stop by and enjoy lunch—and they did! From classic favorites to some uniquely Ian’s creations, there was something for everyone, and the pizzas disappeared quickly.

We’re grateful to Ian’s Pizza for their generosity, community spirit, and for turning a training day into a fun opportunity to bring people together. Thank you for feeding so many smiling faces!

We survived Hometown Days.

The tents are packed away.
The fireworks have faded.
The parade route is clear.
And the last funnel cake has (probably) been eaten.

Now Verona settles into one of the very best parts of the year: summer.

That means Thursday nights in the park, lawn chairs, friendly faces, and live music under the Wisconsin sky.

Concerts in the Park returns next week at Century School Park, kicking off the season with Elizabeth Mary Music on Thursday, June 11 from 6–8 PM.

Here's to another great summer in Verona. ☀️🎶
