In the state which produces the largest amount of ma*****na, most of its communities don’t want it. There are about 500 communities in CA and approximately 400 do not want dispensaries. Yet we in Verona who are opposed to ma*****na are closed-minded!

When voters legalized ma*****na three years ago, advocates said illegal operations would be pushed out and the state would make hundreds of millions in tax revenue. So far, those dreams have not panned out.

The organization SAM (Smart Approaches to Ma*****na) is an organization that tries to inform the public of what the ma*****na industry is about. It was started by Patrick Kennedy the son of senator Ted Kennedy.

Patrick was a member of the House of Representatives as a Democrat. His alcoholism made headlines and he had to resign. When you deal with the impact of addiction on families you pick up on the false narratives by corporations to make money at the expense of the health of others.

The lawyer for GTI is called Paul Josephson. He was also the lawyer for governor Murphy during his campaign and transition. Gov Murphy’s big campaign promise is the legalization of recreational cannabis. A challenging thing to do when most towns don’t want it but rest a sure you can always find a way. Verona apparently is going to be the new center for it since most towns don’t want it. Even in California where most of ma*****na is grown 400 out of 500 counties have passed ordinances against it. Something that Verona won’t do. I should not listen to respectable townspeople who were ripped apart tonight for practicing their first admendment right but instead to GTI and their crew.
