At our last Chapter Meeting our Executive Board Members were sworn in for another year. No changes in leadership; all Board Members are staying in their previous positions for one more year. We also swore in a new member.

Some members also attended the opening of the newly renovated Everett Field where our Chapter donated the funds for a new flag pole.

Our next Chapter Meeting will be Wednesday, August 12 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 36 Gould Street, Verona. We are meeting early in the month to make final plans for the Labor Day 5-K Race. Some members of the Verona UNICO Executive Board gathered last night at the newly renovated Everett Field in Verona. Our Chapter donated funds for the new flag pole. Many years back the Chapter donated the funds for the field lighting. Monday, June 22 is the ribbon cutting for the new field.

The 44th Annual Labor Day 5-K Classic and Fun Run are scheduled for Monday, September 7, 2026. Yes, Labor Day is late this year! The events will take place in Verona Park and surrounding streets as usual.

Congratulations to our 2026 Scholarship recipients. We saw a 45% increase in scholarship applications this year. The Committee struggled to only honor 10 students out of the 24 applicants. Best of luck Class of 2026!
