Get ready for the annual fundraiser for the Coalition for Attainable Homes (previously known as Every Dream Has a Price)!
Save the date: Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at Italian Grill, located at 2180 58th Avenue in Vero Beach. We appreciate Italian Grill's ongoing support and hope you'll dine in or order take-out to show your support. They start serving dinner at 4 p.m.
Our mission remains to build and maintain homes for Indian River County's most vulnerable populations, including homeless veterans. The completed triplex at 4255 32nd Avenue is now occupied by veteran tenants who would have been homeless otherwise, a testament to your support and our collective efforts.
We recently finished the 441 sq ft Accessory Dwelling Unit at 4216 24th Court, which is now housing an elderly veteran tenant. This one-bedroom unit includes a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. It's on the same lot as our original Elder House. If you're unfamiliar with Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), they're smaller, independent residential dwelling units located on the same lot as a stand-alone (i.e., detached) single-family home. ADUs are providing a new solution for the lack of affordable housing in our county and nationwide.
Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to build another ADU and a single-family home on 38th Place, Vero Beach. We're also reviewing our five undeveloped lots to decide the best options for single-family units or, if possible, duplexes.
We invite you to continue supporting our current projects and community outreach while enjoying some great food. If you can't attend, we welcome any donations you can make beyond what Italian Grill is donating from your dinner purchase. Your ongoing support is crucial to our mission, and with it, we can continue providing housing for those in need!
