This morning, our young chefs rolled up their sleeves and learned the art of preserving fresh, local produce with Mrs. Sarah! Members made homemade peach jelly using delicious peaches from Morath Orchard and fresh pickles using cucumbers from 4C Farm.

Not only did they learn a valuable life skill, but they also got a firsthand look at where food comes from and how local farmers help keep our community healthy. A huge thank you to Morath Orchard and 4C Farm for providing the fresh ingredients that made this hands-on experience possible!

Did you know that every weekday, children and teens ages 0-18 can enjoy FREE meals made with fresh produce and ingredients sourced from local vendors right here in our community?

We’re proud to support local growers while providing healthy, nutritious meals that help our kids learn, play, and thrive all summer long. From farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to wholesome meal options, every plate is packed with goodness!

🍳 Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM
🥪 Lunch: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

No registration is required for meals, and all children ages 0-18 are welcome. Dine in with us or take advantage of our convenient grab-and-go option!

These young leaders have dedicated countless hours to identifying challenges in our community, developing solutions, and advocating for positive change. Through their work, they have demonstrated that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are creating change today. And they’re just getting started.

During the Summit for America’s Youth, they will have the opportunity to connect with youth leaders from across the nation, share their advocacy efforts, and meet with elected officials and national leaders to discuss issues impacting young people and communities like ours.

We are incredibly proud of the passion, commitment, and leadership these teens have shown. Vernon will be well represented in our nation’s capital!

Help us congratulate Stella, Garrett, Ariana, and AJ as they prepare to take their voices all the way to Washington, D.C. and showcase the incredible things happening right here in Vernon.

📢 Friendly Reminder to All Parents! 🌞

We have over 75 daily attending members who either have not registered or have not paid for the Summer program. The actual cost per member is $2,137. However, thanks to our generous supporters, we only charge $25 a month.

Payment for our minimal cost program was due June 5th. Just a heads-up to ensure your child does not miss out on any field trips in our fantastic Summer Program, please remember to register and pay the registration fees! 🏊‍♂️🎨⚽️

These guys worked hard all week in football camp with college football players, adarius♟ and Tru Gipson and it paid off! Each member received a set of Under Armour gloves to get them ready for the season! They are pumped! 💪🏈
