We’re so excited to kick off our Bus Buddies program with the amazing employees of Vernon College, the Vernon College Softball team, and Chappie! 🥎💛 We are so thankful for these wonderful partners who help make a difference in our community and bring smiles to our kids’ faces.

🏐🎉 WHAT A SUCCESS! K–2ND GRADE BASKETBALL FUNDRAISER! 🏀❤️

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out, participated, donated, and helped make our Volleyball Fundraiser Tournament a SUCCESS! 🙌💙

It was amazing seeing everyone come together for a great cause to support our upcoming K–2nd Grade Basketball Season! Your time, support, and participation mean so much, and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you! 🏐🏀

What an AMAZING morning at our 2nd Annual Bacon Stroll & Breakfast 5K/1K! 💙

From the colorful runners and walkers to the delicious breakfast and all the smiles along the way, this morning was a reminder of what makes our community so special!

🏐 WELCOME TO OUR VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISER! 🏐

Good evening, everyone!

First, I want to thank all the teams, players, and everyone who came out to participate and support our volleyball fundraiser. We truly appreciate you taking the time to be here, compete, and help support our Boys & Girls Club programs.

Tonight is about having fun, showing good sportsmanship, competing, and coming together as a community. Every bit of support helps us continue providing opportunities for our kids, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped make this event happen.

Before we get started, I want to go over a few rule changes for tonight’s tournament. Since we have 7 teams participating, we want to make sure everyone gets a good amount of playing time and that the tournament is worthwhile for everyone.

🏐 TOURNAMENT GAME RULES

* Regular Tournament Games: Best 2 out of 3 sets.
* First Two Sets: First team to 15 points wins each set.
* Third Set, if needed: First team to 20 points wins.
* Championship Match: Best 2 out of 3 sets, with all sets played to 25 points.
* Championship Scoring: Teams must win by 2 points.

Please remember to respect one another, encourage your teammates, and keep the competition fun and positive. We want everyone to enjoy themselves while representing their teams with pride.

🥓🎉 We had SO much fun at early release yesterday celebrating Bacon Fest at the Clubhouse! 😂❤️

From our bacon slice race 🏁 to making our very own bacon hats 🧢, our members had a blast with all the fun activities! Our Culinary class even got in on the fun with a Mac & Cheese Bacon Contest! 🧀🥓

Hello Bacon Stroll Participants! 🥓🏃‍♀️

We’re excited to welcome you to the 2nd Annual Bacon Stroll & Breakfast 5K/1K this Saturday morning!

We have an exciting NEW addition this year—a COLOR RUN! 🌈🎨 Whether you're running for your best time, enjoying a leisurely stroll, or ready to get covered in color, we've got something for everyone!

Below you'll find all the final event details, including the official route map (attached).

🏃‍♀️ Packet Pickup & Check-In
Time: Beginning at 8:00 AM Saturday

Location: Corner of Cumberland & Marshall, in the parking lot east of Vernon Parts

Participants can pick up their race bags, check in, and register on-site.

🕗 Race Day Schedule
Location: Cumberland & Marshall (Vernon Parts parking lot)

8:00 AM: Check-In & On-Site Registration

8:30 AM: 5K Start

8:35 AM: 1K Start

Parking: Available along Marshall Street or in the City of Vernon parking lot.

🌈 NEW! Color Run – Participation Is OPTIONAL!
We're adding a little extra FUN to this year's Bacon Stroll with color stations along the course!

Want to participate in the Color Run?

Pick up a Color Run wristband at check-in.

Wear your wristband so our color station volunteers know you're participating.

Get ready for some colorful fun along the route!

Prefer to skip the color? NO PROBLEM!

Please stay to the LEFT side of the course as you approach and pass through each color station.

Our color station volunteers will be looking for wristbands and directing color toward participating runners and walkers.

You can enjoy the entire race without intentionally being sprayed with color!

IMPORTANT: If you do not wish to participate in the Color Run, please remember to STAY LEFT at all color stations! While volunteers will do their best to keep the color contained, some airborne powder may drift.

🚨 Safety & Support
The Vernon Police Department will provide route supervision to help ensure everyone's safety. Our wonderful volunteers will also be stationed along the course to cheer you on!

Water Station: Corner of Mansard & Tolar

First Aid Station: Provided by Hillcrest Pharmacy – Vernon

Color Stations: Watch for volunteers along the course and remember to stay LEFT if you're skipping the color!

🍳 Finish Line Breakfast & Shuttle
After crossing the finish line at the west entrance of the Boys & Girls Club, stick around for a delicious breakfast served by our friends at Tyson Foods!

On the menu:

🥓 Wright Brand Bacon provided by Tyson Foods

🍞 Jelly & Butter provided by McDonald's

🍳 Biscuits and eggs

Shuttle buses will run approximately every 5 minutes from the Club back to Vernon Parts to help you return to your vehicle.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group:

18 & Under

19–39

40–59

60 & Up

After breakfast, our Club kids will be offering guided tours of the Boys & Girls Club! We encourage you to take a few minutes to see firsthand the incredible programs and opportunities your participation helps make possible.
