🧠 Did you know that June is Brain Awareness Month?

A healthy brain starts with a healthy body! 💪 Physical fitness, good nutrition 🥗, and mindfulness 🧘 all play important roles in supporting lifelong brain health—and Scouting helps youth build these habits every step of the way.

🐾 From the earliest Cub Scout adventures, Scouts learn the importance of staying active, making healthy food choices, and taking care of their overall well-being:

🦁 Lion: Fun on the Run
🐯 Tiger: Tiger Bites
🐺 Wolf: Running with the Pack
🐻 Bear: Bear Strong, Chef Tech
🎯 Webelos: Personal Fitness, Chef's Knife
🧭 Arrow of Light: Personal Fitness

🏕️ As Scouts BSA members continue their journey, they build on those foundations through merit badges that promote lifelong healthy habits, including 🦅 Eagle-required badges such as:

🍳 Cooking
🏃 Personal Fitness
🚴 Cycling
🥾 Hiking
🏊 Swimming

🌬️ This month, we're also highlighting Scouting's Safety Moment on Mindful Breathing. Taking a few moments each day to focus on your breathing can help reduce stress, improve focus, and support overall well-being. Just as physical activity strengthens our bodies, mindfulness helps strengthen our minds.

❤️ Every act strengthens a community.
🌟 Every service project builds character.

From food drives and park cleanups to helping neighbors and supporting local organizations, Scouts make a difference through service every day.

This is what summer looks like in Scouting.☀️

Long days outside. Campfires with new friends. Learning something new for the first time.

From the water to the trails, Scouts are building confidence, trying new things, and creating memories that last far beyond the summer.

🌲 🌄These moments are more than just fun. They are where growth happens.

Celebrating Flag Week and Day: June 8–14 ⚜️

National Flag Week and Flag Day honor the history, meaning, and proper respect of the United States flag—symbolizing unity, service, and citizenship since its adoption on June 14, 1777.

Through Scouting America, Scouts take these values to heart every day—living out duty to country, respect for symbols, and active citizenship through leadership and service.

This connects directly to the American Heritage Merit Badge, where Scouts explore how national symbols like the flag, pledge, motto, and anthem reflect our nation’s history and values: https://www.scouting.org/merit-badges/american-heritage/

From flag etiquette to understanding the stories behind America’s founding ideals, Scouts learn that the flag is more than fabric—it represents the shared responsibilities and freedoms we uphold together.

🌱 Celebrating Gardening Week: June 1–7

Gardening Week celebrates growing, nurturing, and understanding plants in gardens, community plots, and conservation spaces.

Through Scouting America, Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA alike can experience hands-on learning that grows with them across program levels:

Cub Scout Adventures in nature:
🦁 Lion: Ready, Set, Grow and Champions for Nature
🐯 Tiger, 🐺 Wolf, 🐻 Bear, ⚜️ Webelos, 🎯 AOL: Champions for Nature

Older Scouts can connect through the Gardening Merit Badge, building skills in soil health, plant care, food production, and sustainable growing practices.
