Hello Vernon Hills Days friends!

The committee is proud to announce that in partnership with Vernon Hills Park District and Vernon Hills Police Department we are hosting our first annual The Police Chase Twilight 5k on Wednesday, July 15th at 6:30pm!

Here you'll have the chance to race against/run from members of the Vernon Hills Police Department! This is a charity event and proceeds will be donated to the Veterans Path To Hope.

This is a family friendly event and will start promptly at 6:30pm on the festival grounds. You will run or walk through Century Park and Big and Little Bear lakes. Once you cross the finish line, you will head straight to the beer tent for post-race refreshments and music.

Packet Pickup will be held prior to the event starting at 5pm.

Registration is open!

The Police Chase Twilight 5k @ Vernon Hills Days is on Wednesday July 15, 2026.

After a day of rest, we wanted to come back here to say THANK YOU to all of those that came out to Vernon Hills Days this year! We hope you enjoyed the festival and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

We couldn't do this without the support of all of our awesome volunteers - so many thanks to those that came to sell tickets, help with kids crafts, VIP night, the bags tournament, and behind the bar! We also wanted to thank our sponsors, including Rust-Oleum for their generous support and the use of their parking lot for the carnival. Vernon Hills Bank & Trust for their donation to support the petting zoo.

Some of our local restaurants also donated food for our VIP nights, sponsor banquets and to our police and volunteers who staff our event. We could not be more thankful for Jimmy John's Chick-fil-A Vernon Hills, Antioch Pizza Shop - Libertyville, Libertyville Domino’s, Main Street Tacos, Maciano's, The Philly Special, and Wick ‘n Ore Kitchen & Tap!

They both donated pizzas today to feed our hungry Village of Vernon Hills Police Dept officers and volunteers who staff our event. We’re so grateful for the generosity and willingness to help us out! Excellent news! It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful night for Heart to Heartbreaker and Tommy Decarlo tonight! Shows start at 7pm!

Update!

The grounds are open and we have free kids crafts in the dry beer tent available including free face painting! Unfortunately, the sensory tent from Rockin’ the Spectrum will not be here.

The rides and food should be open soon but in the meantime we’re here to serve you!
