Game Off:

Hi everyone—Ash here! I am going to interrupt Afton’s amazing posting schedule for a moment.

Before founding the academy, I worked in the human services field, where a big part of my job was connecting people with available resources in their area. While many in our community are federal employees or federal contractors, I know that others may also benefit from this as well so I am posting it publicly.

A not-so-well-known resource: every U.S. state (and many territories) has a 2-1-1 database. This is a regularly updated directory of local help across income levels. You’ll find things like food assistance, housing and utility support, childcare, mental health services, legal aid, transportation, and more.

To find it, just google your state and 2-1-1. It should come up.
