Vernal Speak EZ Toastmasters

This is a very difficult letter to write to our current and past members of the Toastmaster Speak EZ Club. We, as the leaders of the club, are sorry to report that we will close our Club effective September 30, 2021, at the end of the Toastmaster International Club Renewal period.

Although we would have liked to continue our Club, the circumstances over the last few years have caused a decline in our membership. The club, though, has enjoyed the best of times throughout the years.

Many, many members have gained so much by being a part of the Speak EZ club. Speaking skills were practiced and developed. Contests were entered, with great success. A multitude of speeches were given, which touched our hearts and enlightened our minds through personal stories, as well as giving us wonderful information. Table Topics and Evaluations also helped us hone our speaking skills! Social connections were made through “Post Toasties”, Parties & Gatherings, Leadership Training and so much more. Most importantly, many lasting friendships were made throughout the years.

Over our Speak EZ history, our club has been a platform for achievement for many in obtaining Toastmasters Education Awards, culminating in the success of three of our Speak EZ Club members achieving their Distinguished Toastmasters Award. Less than 1% of all Toastmasters International members have received this award. We were a small but mighty club! We will not meet on September 9th or 23rd for a regular meeting.

To all our Members and Toastmaster friends. The Executive Board, in following guidelines from the CDC, State and Local officials, have cancelled our regularly scheduled Club Meetings at the Vernal Library. This will be ongoing until the Coronavirus situation has calmed. We hope to get an online meeting format up and running soon. Toastmasters International will be providing information and guidelines with a Zoomlink soon, to help clubs get started.

We urge you to take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Let’s do everything we can to quell the coronavirus pandemic as quickly as possible. Please stay in tune with your public health departments and local and national organizations for information regarding this unprecedented situation.

The Executive Board will continue to update you as we receive information and as plans solidify with our Speak EZ Online Meetings.

It’s Great to be a Toastmaster!
Gain confidence in your speaking skills as our Speak EZ Club gets set for the 2019-2020 Education Year which includes both Pathways and the retiring Legacy Program (which concludes June 30, 2020!) The Pathways Program will then continue on and be practiced by every member! You can work in both programs this year! Toastmaster Members, world-wide, are advancing their skills with Toastmasters! Come join us every second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Vernal Public Library.

Our new club Officers for the 2019 -2020 Toastmaster Year began their term on July 1st!

At our Speak EZ Club meeting On Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 6:30 To 7:45 pm, Toastmaster Cathy Barker will present a workshop called “Developing Your Leadership Skills”.
This workshop is designed to help you learn your Leadership Style; the Characteristics of an Effective Team and Powerful Team Building!

You won’t want to miss this fun and informative hands-on meeting! Guests are welcome!
