Please, say a prayer, send well wishes, for a speedy recovery so we can get Dr. B home, healthy and continuing to be the amazing Dr he is.
As many of you have already heard, my dad, Dr. B was flown out to the University of Utah Monday after his diligent nurses and staff recognized that Dr.B, who thought he had a sinus infection, had much more severe symptoms. I specifically want to give a shout out to Lysha and Monique, who very appropriately asked for Dr.Woodward’s help and then called me to help my dad. With this quick intervention we were able to get a CT to confirm fears of a brain bleed. We believe this was due to an injury Dr. B suffered a couple weeks ago after being hit in the head with a baseball while playing with his grandchildren. I also specifically want to thank Dr.Paulsen who helped me navigate some difficult decisions while my mom was out of town, and the UBMC ER staff who quickly facilitated flight for my dad. He now is in the Neuro ICU at the U and is doing well. He has a lot of pain from the pressure on his brain but he’s a stubborn fighter. He is scheduled to undergo surgical intervention tomorrow sometime and he’s ready for relief from his very persistent headache.
I also want to share that dad has been so worried about his patients. He continually tells the doctors here that he has an OB due soon that he needs to get home to. He cares about all of you so much, and more than anything wants to come home and be your doctor. We are so grateful for all of the love, prayers, and support, and to the amazing Basin Clinic staff who have taken on a lot of extra work for him.
Dad asked that I do an update and I’ll try to update more as we learn more. Thank you again to everyone for all your love for us. The entire Breitenbach family is thankful for continued prayers and love.
