Starting Feb. 1st, USD is participating in “Campus Race to Zero Waste’s” annual nationwide campus recycling competition. During February and March, our per capita recycling weights will be reported and ranked against other universities all across the country (including SDSU!). You are invited to join us for a presentation and public forum on (developing) community composting in Vermillion, South Dakota. The public forum will highlight the relevance of community composting and the Vermillion community’s perceptions of and interest in community composting. A discussion on the prospects and pathways toward developing community composting will follow.

Students learned a lot from guest speakers Dr. Mark Sweeney and Anna Moore about how, when, why, and where to recycle. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this successful and fun event!
