The Evan Project Diaper Bank

The Evan Project Diaper Bank Evan loved to surprise people by generosity. Diapers are not covered by WIC, SNAP, or TANF, so there is a real need.

The Evan Project Diaper Bank, a program of United Way of Vermillion, provides diapers free of charge to families in need to keep babies clean, dry, and healthy! In Evan's eulogy, I told the story I'd heard about Evan where he was talking to a gal he'd never met before, and she mentioned to him that she couldn't afford to buy diapers for her baby, and Evan just immediately packed her up in his car

and drove her to the store and bought as many diapers as he could fit in his car, and sent her on her way. So, I hope to honor his memory by giving folks things they need which they might not have been able to have otherwise. Folks can get assistance with food and child care costs, but not diapers. All babies deserve to be clean, healthy, and dry.

We just got notice that another grant written by this class was fully funded! Thanks so much to Professor Green and his students for their incredible work. Because of them, babies in Clay County will continue to be happy, healthy, and dry! ❤

Students in the University of South Dakota Department of English Grant Writing course helped earn the Evan Project a grant from the Dakota Hospital Foundation.

Huge thanks to Dakota Hospital Foundation for their amazing support of The Evan Project!

Beginning June 3rd, the Evan Project will be a part of the Community Connection Center located at 9 Court Street (the old True Value building across from the Post Office)! Our hours will start off being at least from 9 am to noon, with additional irregular hours while we get settled and sorted. We will update our hours soon, so keep an eye out for that. We are always and infinitely grateful to Vermillion First United Methodist Church for supporting and sustaining our mission to show love and care to Vermillion's smallest residents.
