🇺🇸 A Weekend We Won’t Soon Forget 🇺🇸

As we wrap up an incredible weekend, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it possible.

First and foremost, to our Purple Heart Veterans — thank you. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and for allowing us the privilege of spending this weekend with you. It was truly an honor to welcome you to Lake Erie, share our tables with you, hear your stories, laugh together, and make memories that we will carry with us long after this weekend.

A very special thank you to Wounded Warriors In Action (WWIA) for trusting Lake Erie Walleye Warriors with the opportunity to host these incredible men. We are proud to be part of a mission that brings our Nation’s combat-wounded veterans together through the outdoors, camaraderie, and community.

Mother Nature may not have given us the weather we hoped for, but she certainly didn’t stop us. We still found our way onto the water, and when we couldn’t be there, some of the best moments happened around the table — sharing meals, telling stories, laughing, and simply enjoying one another’s company.

To our boat captains, volunteers, family, friends, community supporters, donors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes — thank you. Whether you cooked a meal, captained a boat, donated supplies, helped prepare, cleaned up, or simply showed up to welcome our Warriors, you were part of this weekend and its success.

At the end of the day, this weekend was never just about catching walleye. It was about camaraderie, gratitude, friendship, and reminding our Purple Heart Veterans that their sacrifices have not been forgotten.

From all of us at WWIA Lake Erie Walleye Warriors, thank you for helping us make memories both on the water and around the table. 🇺🇸🎣

The Inaugural WWIA Lake Erie Walleye Warriors Fishing event is coming to Vermilion, Ohio, September 18–21, 2026! 🎣🌊

Our Purple Heart Heroes will soon take to the legendary waters of Lake Erie for an unforgettable few days of world-class walleye fishing, camaraderie, connection, and the restorative power of the great outdoors.

As with every WWIA event, this is about so much more than fishing. 💜 These therapeutic, adaptive, outdoor sporting adventures provide our Heroes with opportunities to reconnect with fellow Purple Heart recipients, be supported by patriotic communities, strengthen bonds, build lasting friendships, and experience some much-deserved time together.

👏 A very special thank you to our incredible Hosts, Jim and Crisie Clifford, and their remarkable group of supporters! Their generosity, hard work, hospitality, and commitment to our Heroes have helped make this inaugural event possible. We are tremendously grateful for everyone who has stepped forward to support this event and ensure our Heroes receive an experience they will remember for years to come. 🇺🇸💜
