Fraternal Order of Eagles - Addison County

Fraternal Order of Eagles - Addison County Friends and neighbors helping the community...locally, state level and nationwide. People helping People. The Eagles are hometown builders.

Addison County Aerie #3801 of Vergennes has supported the community and the Grand Aerie's charities since the Aerie's inception in 1978 and has always lived up to the Eagles Motto "People Helping People". We strive every day to bring in new members who will participate in more activities to benefit these charities and help contribute to the millions of dollars the Eagles as a whole raise to help t

he fight against cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's and other illnesses. It was the Eagles who pushed for the founding of Mother's Day, who provided the impetus for Social Security and, who pushed to end job discrimination based on age. The Eagles have provided support for medical centers across the country to build and provide research for medical conditions — we raise money every year to combat heart disease and cancer, help handicapped kids, uplift the aged and make life a little brighter for everyone. We support our police, firefighters, and others who protect and serve. We fund medical research in areas such as spinal cord injuries, kidney disease, diabetes and Alzheimer's. We help raise money for our communities...we are the Eagles and we are "People Helping People."

Addison County Eagles celebrated another year older this Saturday. The food was amazing! We’re so thankful for the students and their hard work.

Northlands Job Corps'culinary arts students were very busy last week. In partnership with the Vergennes Eagles club Aerie #3801, the culinary arts students prepared and served a special dinner at their local event center. The students prepared a “Pasta Bar” with many choices of veggies, special sauces, and meats. Adding homemade focaccia bread, 2 salads, 3 appetizers, and 2 desserts, you can see that they had a crazy week! Chef Zach Blanchette’s team of students ranged from a “first week in trade” student to one departing for advanced training next week. All of them did a great job representing the Center to the Vergennes community. Many of the attendees spoke with both Chef Zach and the CTT Manager, Sue Magill, during and after dinner—lots of praise and compliments for the students’ efforts. One highlight of the evening was the surprise chocolate cake, which almost everyone tried and loved. They were all shocked to learn that one of the main ingredients in this cake was BEETS!

L-R: Eagles State President Bill McLean, Vergennes Eagles President Justin Bassett, Chris Goldstein Perdue, Mariah Gray, Tiannah Miller, Semaj Scales, Chef Zach Blanchette, Romeo Steadman, Sean Amos, Avery Knight, Sha’Ajah Pierce, Vergennes Eagles Auxiliary President Angie Bassett, Eagles State Auxiliary President Marie Foerch.

The Vergennes Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3801, is a service organization with a focus on “People helping people”, according to President Bassett. The facility is a welcoming place that is used for many events. They raise funds to assist with City events, such as co-sponsoring the annual fireworks display for July 4th and scholarships for local students. They create a monthly fish fry, a yearly Thanksgiving dinner, and host the yearly Addison County Fire Fighters dinner and meeting. Just a short list of what they support. This is a noteworthy organization with busy people who are willing to help others! Partnering with them has created a joint collaboration that works.

It was a fun night!
