SPPD Officers Save Life During Overdose Response 🚨

On July 8, 2026, SPPD Detective Logan and Sergeant Pender responded to a report of a possible fentanyl overdose.

Upon arrival, Det. Logan found a male who was unresponsive, without a pulse, and showing signs of severe oxygen deprivation. He immediately administered a dose of Narcan and began CPR. Sgt. Pender arrived shortly after and secured the man’s airway. After approximately two minutes of chest compressions, Det. Logan checked and confirmed the man had regained a pulse. Sgt. Pender then administered a second dose of Narcan and verified the pulse remained stable.

Sansom Park Fire Department arrived on scene and helped maintain a secure airway, and Fort Worth Fire Department/EMS arrived shortly after to intubate the man before transporting him to the hospital for further treatment.

This life was saved through the collective efforts of Venus Beyond Boundaries, whose Narcan donation made rapid intervention possible, along with the quick action and CPR from SPPD officers, the thorough assessment by Sansom Park Fire Department, and the skilled care from Fort Worth Fire/EMS.
