The Venus Project presents the culmination of decades of inquiry into the connection between global resource mismanagement and problems such as war, poverty, crime, climate change, and ecological destruction. In response to these challenges, The Venus Project harnesses a holistic design methodology, including interdisciplinarity and a systems approach

, in combination with evolutionary mechanisms to renew human habitats and restore the natural environment. With a philosophy emphasizing connection and integration and prioritizing balance, we present a set of values and objectives that outline the conditions of success for a sustainable civilization. Above all, we assert that no civilization will prevail in the long-term without acknowledging that the enhancement of human wellbeing depends first on its alignment with nature. Despite energy and material constraints, with the wise application of the best of what we collectively already know, through science and technology, both in service of an unwavering devotion to ecology, we believe our hypotheses, if tested, offer the brightest prospect for an unparalleled positive impact. While our often senseless forays into brutality and violence continue—demonstrating how far we remain from being truly civilized—more people are beginning to recognize the need for a fundamentally different way of managing technology, resources, and human relationships.

This growing awareness is encouraging, as it reflects a willingness to question existing systems. However, many stop short of exploring what viable alternatives might look like.

We encourage you to investigate the work of Jacque Fresco to gain insight into possible future scenarios and more effective approaches to organizing society.

Fresco dedicated his life to studying how environment, technology, and social systems shape human behavior, proposing a scientific approach to designing a more sustainable and humane civilization.

His ideas continue to inspire ongoing discussion about systems thinking, global cooperation, and the future of society.

This month marks 110 years since the birth of Jacque Fresco.

Building Situational Awareness #1: Earth Systems and Decisions

Recent research on Global Tipping Points conceptualizes Earth as an interconnected system characterized by thresholds. As global temperatures increase, certain changes may transition from gradual to self-reinforcing due to feedback mechanisms. This perspective implies a reduced margin for error as anthropogenic pressures intensify and biophysical constraints become increasingly obvious.

Jacque Fresco’s Resource Based Economy emerges as a testable framework that grounds decision-making in biophysical realities, including resource flows, regeneration rates, and human ingenuity, all within Earth's carrying capacity.

Do wars protect populations or preserve economic and political arrangements?

As tensions rise due to the Israel-US war on Iran, it’s a reminder that conflict doesn’t emerge in isolation — it grows from political, economic, and strategic systems built on competition and power.

War isn’t inevitable — it’s a symptom of how our current system is structured.
This video with Jacque Fresco challenges the assumption that war is “just human nature” and points instead to the way our global structures are designed.

If we can design cities, technology and infrastructure — we can redesign the systems that keep producing conflict.

These ideas give us a vision for how that future can look.

85 seconds to midnight — that’s the new Doomsday Clock reading. It’s a stark reminder that tinkering isn’t enough: our current systems are built on competition, nationalism, and short-term gain, and they’re driving us closer to real catastrophe. The Venus Project’s holistic, resource based approach offers a pathway out of that cycle.

🎬 In Appreciation of William Gazecki 🕊️

We’re sharing something special today in remembrance of William Gazecki, who recently passed away.
William filmed a series of powerful interviews and behind-the-scenes moments for the documentary Future by Design, in collaboration with The Venus Project. While these clips were ultimately not used in the final film, they capture valuable conversations, insights, and moments that reflect the depth of his work and commitment.

This is the first of fourteen we will be presenting,

In Memory of William Gazecki

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of William Gazecki, a documentary filmmaker whose work played a meaningful role in preserving the ideas and legacy of Jacque Fresco.

William approached his work with sincerity, patience, and genuine respect. He devoted countless hours to documenting conversations, insights, and reflections, creating a body of work that went far beyond a single film. In an extraordinary act of kindness and trust, he generously gave us more than 60 hours of raw video recordings—material of great historical and educational significance.

This gift was not simply footage. It was a gesture rooted in shared values and a belief that these ideas deserve to be preserved and made available to future generations. His contribution continues to inform, inspire, and educate, and for that we are profoundly grateful.

We remember William for his integrity, generosity, and commitment to thoughtful documentation. His work remains as part of an ongoing dialogue about the kind of world we are capable of creating.

Below is a link to the documentary “Future by Design”, which stands as a lasting tribute to his dedication and care.

From our recommended reading list: "The New Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins

The story continues. In this sequel to his controversial first, John Perkins further details how the U.S. government conspired in the interest of private enterprise to exploit foreign nations. A must read for anyone interested in the harsh reality of covert geopolitical agendas.

We would like to recognize Pavel Churkin for the first ever AI generated transition plan toward a global RBE. Pavel used DeepSeek to produce this outline of what a transition might look like given what is known about existing technologies, institutions, and laws. While it is still speculative, it is the most extensive attempt to outline what a transition might look like using current AI capabilities. An interesting result. While the original is in Russian, we have included a link to an English translation. Take a look!
