“On this Trans Day of Visibility, I raise my voice against the rising tide of transphobia across the globe, specifically in the U.S. and India, where politicians and bigots continue to treat our existence as a debate rather than a right.
As an Asian Indian immigrant and a board member of diversity collective, I carry the strength of my heritage into this fight.
We are not an afterthought;
We are a witness and a force.
We will continue to speak up for the marginalized and stand firm against those who seek to erase us.”
Today, March 31, marks International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). It’s a day dedicated to celebrating the lives and contributions of transgender and gender expansive people, while also raising awareness of the work still needed to achieve true equity.
