Almost forgot to update ya'll on my Web Dev meeting!

Bike 4 a Cause is the world's first "Open Source Nonprofit" where all details of operations and finances are visible to the public. We will have a tab on our website that displays our "Transparent Treasury" that shows exactly where grants and donated funds go to, down to the last paperclip and independent contractor expense. I'm hoping this establishes trust with the public, as I have heard a common opinion that Nonprofit's budget too much money for executives often times lacking innovation and progressive efficiency. I'm also being proactive ensuring that the nonprofit I'm founding has checks and balances within the structure to curb corruption and inefficiency into the future.

Team Sober Cycle, Team Christ, Team Hanuman, Team Ventura High School, Team Boy Scouts, etc. to raise funds per lap.

This is what I got for my book so far. It catalogs local Ventura history of bike lane improvements through grass roots community action. Leading up to the current project of creating the VUSD Bike Distance Competition and vision to expand the program across the globe. It is called "The Story of Bike 4 a Cause".

Chapter 1: Bike 4 a Cause 2012: Why? What is the concept? What is the purpose?

It was the Spring of 2012 in vibrant Ventura, CA. Angry citizens rallied in community forums. Addressing report after report of elderly and young citizens being hit in the streets by cars. On Ventura Avenue in particular, there was poor lighting and hardly any crosswalks despite the high pedestrian traffic zone. Bike lanes around town weren’t in any better shape either, being faded, overgrown, and narrow.

Meanwhile, popular youth culture is taking an interest in a type of bike called a Fixed Gear Bike or “Fixie”. This bike requires a special type of maneuver in order to stop or slow the bike down, oftentimes having no back up traditional braking system.

The Ban

It wasn’t long until the town was abuzz with the latest unfortunate news, there was a popular high school girl that was riding her fixie Downtown and hit her head on a car that was backing out. She was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury. A group of parents went to the powers that be demanding some type of reform to prevent this from happening again. Their solution was to ban the sale of fixed gear bikes within Ventura County.

In case your wondering this what I've been working on. My next step is to begin fundraising for Gift Card Prizes for the kids.

Now I got Patagonia and TREK backing me with prizes hopefully it will show other businesses credibility and they will follow suit yay! \m/ 🥳
