Group of concerned and interested water agencies formed in 1976 as a means to communicate and collaborate on solutions to important water problems and sustainability. OVER 35 YEARS OF COLLABORATION WITH THE VENTURA COUNTY WATER COMMUNITY

A group of concerned and interested water agencies formed in 1976 as a means to collaborate and advise the County of Ventura on solutions to important water

problems such as groundwater management, water efficiency, seawater intrusion reclamation, desalination, water education and importation of state water. Today the members of the Association of Water Agencies (AWA) include water wholesalers/purveyors; agricultural, domestic and industrial water users; policymakers/elected officials; private businesses and individuals interested in water and willing to make a difference. A diversified group of agencies and individuals with different water issues and concerns including water quality, localized water shortages, rising water prices, stricter federal and state regulation, need to optimize local and imported sources, lack of adequate storage for sought-after reliability and other issues that require coordinated efforts. An instrumental group, in achieving cooperation to maximize available supplies through collaboration by providing a vehicle for communication and mutual benefit in working together to meet these challenges.

Great Program! The AWA "Channel Counties Water Utility Committee" provides training and educational instruction to our water and wastewater agencies, as well as CDDW contact hours for water operator certification renewal.

🌟Yesterday, our Manager of IT, Wes Richardson, led a panel discussion on "Drinking Water Sector Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security, including New Developments in 2024," at the Association of Water Agencies of Ventura County, Channel Counties Water Utility Committee’s educational workshop for local water operators and administrators. Panelists included experts from the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC) and Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Cybersecurity is a top priority for all water agencies, and Calleguas is proud to provide leadership in this crucial area. 💧🚰
