🚨 REMINDER 🚨 We are hosting a walk-in vaccination clinic for your furry friends tomorrow! Stop by the shelter, located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, from 12:30 - 3 pm for FREE distemper/parvo vaccines for your pups and FREE upper respiratory vaccines for your kitties! First come first serve!

We are also offering $5 Rabies vaccines (proof of rabies required for 3-year vaccine), $15 Bordetella, and $25 microchipping including registration. We'll see you there 🐶🐱

You may remember Mickey, our little FIP Warrior that we took in last November. Mickey beat FIP, but he isn't ready for his new home just yet, as he has some super snorty chronic breathing issues that we need to get checked to be sure that he is healthy for neuter surgery!

We are hoping to raise about $300 for his initial vet check and x-rays, and any bit helps!

Donation links in our insta bio, and our PayPal is ! Donations can also be made through Facebook or PayPal Giving Fund, but either of those options have a waiting periood before we receive the funds, and we are hoping to get him to the vet ASAP. 🖤🖤

💡Also just a friendly reminder that FIP IS treatable, there ARE options, it is NOT a certain death sentence, as unfortunately many veterinarians are still advising pet parents due to the constraints placed upon them by the manufacturer of the treatment not allowing for FDA approval for animal use. We are completely out of money, and our foster homes are still filled with LAST year's kittens who never got adopted, so we have not been been able to take in kittens this year...

Having said that, there are still a BAZILLION home grown street kittens being born every day in Ventura County with nowhere to go, so if you are interested in fostering, adopting, or fostering-to-adopt, send us a DM on Instagram or an email to [email protected].

Heck, we will even take "special orders" - if that perfect orange kitten is the only one that makes it off the street, better one than zero...

We wanted to take a moment and send a huge thank you to those who have sent in donations in memory of the incomparable Betty White. 🖤

I wasn't really sure that we were going to be participating (it honestly feels a little yucky to me to be trying to raise funds using the name of a woman who presumably had no idea who we are), but I have been extremely moved and humbled by the outpouring of support that we have received today.

This is coming at a time that we desperately need the assistance. Pictured here is Mickey, one of the three kittens that we are currently treating for FIP. We are presently spending $48 dollars every single day for the lifesaving medication for Mickey, Blossom, and Buttercup, and the treatment regimen requires a minimum of 84 days of medication. At their current weights, that means the total cost will exceed $4,000. We also just finished treating Wink, the other FIP kitty in our program, which was another $1,000+ dollars. And that is only the cost for FIP meds for 4 cats in the rescue, to say nothing of the food and medical costs of the 36 animals presently in our foster program - many of whom are "special needs" - and 8 of whom have now been with us for over a year, still waiting for their forever homes to find them.

Foundling supporters, we could really use some help here. We have 3 kittens with FIP in our care needing daily injections with this experimental drug that has already helped cure 1 of our kittens in rescue. We have 3 more that are taking this life saving medication. In the past FIP has been the death sentence for so many kittens/cats but we have been networking with other groups that are having huge success with this drug called GS that’s in trial at this point but our hope is that it will get approved so veterinarians can help families take advantage of this to save their babies. Unfortunately, this drug comes with a hefty price tag. Each 5ml bottle is approximately $80 dollars, two sisters are up to 3ml a day, you can do the math but this is adding up and taxing our little rescue. It’s hard for us to give an exact fund raising amount because as the kittens get bigger so does the dose. We could use any amount anyone is willing to donate to we can keep the care going, we are also happy to help guide anyone that has a kitten/cat diagnosed with this terrible disease. We love these babies so much and we want to see them beat this terrible disease and get adopted to wonderful families once cured.
