Praying for the quick recovery of the Officers involved in yesterday’s events. Ours thoughts and prayers are with the men and women of the Atlantic City PBA Local #24

UPDATE - ONE ATLANTIC CITY OFFICER CRITICALLY INJURED IN SHOOTING. Atlantic City PBA Local #24 has started a GoFundMe account. Please lend a hand and keep the prayers coming.

Details:
On June 2nd, 2026, our friend, colleague, husband, father, and brother in blue, Sergeant Christian Ivanov of the Atlantic City Police Department, was critically injured after being shot in the line of duty while serving and protecting the community he has dedicated his life to. Christian is currently in stable but serious condition, surrounded by his family, friends, and fellow officers as he begins the fight toward recovery.

To many, Christian is a highly respected SWAT Sergeant with the Atlantic City Police Department, a leader who has spent his career running toward danger when others are running away from it. He is known for his courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. But beyond the badge, Christian is so much more. He is a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to three young children who are now facing an uncertain and difficult road ahead. He is a successful small business owner, a mentor, a friend, and the kind of person who is always willing to help others without hesitation.

Today, Christian and his family need our help. The road to recovery will be long. As Christian focuses on healing, his family will be faced with medical expenses, travel costs, childcare needs, household expenses, and countless unforeseen challenges that come with recovering from a traumatic injury.

We are asking the Atlantic County community, touched by the sacrifices made by first responders, to stand with Christian and his family during this difficult time. Christian has spent his life protecting others. Now it is our turn to support him. Thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers.

Great win!

25 years of saving lives. 🚔

Today marks the 25th anniversary of — a law rooted in prevention, protection, and purpose.

John’s Law requires that when a driver is arrested for drunk driving in New Jersey, their vehicle is impounded for 12 hours: preventing them from getting back behind the wheel while still intoxicated.

Since 2001, more than 700,000 cars have been impounded.

Created in memory of Ensign John Elliott, this law has turned tragedy into action, saving lives, supporting families, and making our roads safer every day.

Because of the Elliott Family’s advocacy, the HERO Campaign’s ongoing work, and the commitment of law enforcement officers, this life-saving impact continues every day.
Be a HERO. Be a Designated Driver. 💙

The Men and Women of the Ventnor City Police Department and Local #97 hope everyone stay’s safe, and warm, during the “Blizzard of 2026”

🚲⚡ Important Notice: New New Jersey E-Bike Law Now in Effect

New state legislation has significantly changed how electric bicycles (e-bikes) may be used in New Jersey, including who can ride them and what requirements apply.

👮‍♂️ Why this matters:
The law was updated to reduce crashes, prevent serious injuries, and address unsafe high-speed or modified e-bikes. The goal is safety and accountability, not punishment.

📌 Key points everyone should know:
• Only low-speed e-bikes (pedal-assist, max 20 mph) qualify as electric bicycles
• Some faster or throttle-based e-bikes are now legally classified as motorized bicycles or motorcycles
• Riders must be at least 15 years old
• Registration, insurance, and a valid license or permit are now required
• Modifying an e-bike to increase speed or power is illegal
• All e-bike crashes must be reported, just like motor vehicle crashes

⏳ Six-Month Compliance Period:
Riders have six months to come into compliance with registration, licensing, and insurance requirements. During this time, police will focus on education and voluntary compliance.

🛴 Shared e-bike rentals:
Government-contracted shared e-bike systems allow riders 16 and older to operate without a license (this exception does not apply to privately owned e-bikes).

✅ What riders should do now:
• Confirm what type of e-bike you own
• Register and insure it if required
• Obtain the proper license or permit
• Do not modify your e-bike

Our department supports this law because it helps protect riders, pedestrians, and motorists alike. Please take a moment to review the new requirements and ride safely.

📣 We encourage residents to share this post to help spread awareness.
