First Operating Session for the Montour & P&LE

We recently held the first Super Operating Session with the Montour and P&LE layout being fully operational.
18 members & guests attended - running multiple trains over the entire layout.
We still have some items on the "To Do" & "Clean-up" lists but everything ran pretty well.

We have started our Summer hours on Wednesdays - so are now in sessions on both Wednesday & Saturday mornings from 9am - 12noon.

8 operating layouts in 4 different sizes -
O + S + HO + N scales
Plus our Hobby Shop and the Montour History Room
Artifacts - Displays - photos - memorabilia
Stop in and check us out!

What: 100th anniversary celebration of the Venetia School building
Activities will include - Open house – History presentations –
Model Railroad layouts – Music performances – Raffle baskets –

Also: An interpretive sign has been installed at the school by the
Montour Railroad Historical Society showing the 100 year history
of the building. Check it out the next time you come by.

The DARE Model Railroad Club will host a National Model Railroaders Assn Keystone Division meeting this Sunday – Jan. 18.

The Club layouts will be open for operation and demonstration from 12 noon to 4 pm.
The NMRA meeting with a guest speaker will start at 2 pm

The Hobby Shop has locomotives, rolling stock, buildings & accessories available for purchase.
The Montour History Room with artifacts, memorabilia & historical items will be open as well.

Our recent Open House session was enjoyed by many.
The members operated trains on all the layouts for the entire day.
Visitors & guests had a chance to participate as well as see what the DARE Club has to offer.
And the raffle winners were all smiles!
