FARTS
This is (one of) the most difficult jobs that you will have at the fair. Because of how excited you are to finish off the job. ie: getting rid of the car for the weekend. This action releases you into the energy for your fair!!
* two hands on the wheel, eyes on the road, put your patient Hat on.
BEING PATIENT when you are the driver of a moving vehicle at the fair, is THE MOST IMPORTANT ATTITUDE YOU CAN ADOPT.
I will repeat it because it is so important: zBEING PATIENTz
What's the attitude that you need when you're driving at the fair?
*~ ...patients...~*
Now you're ready. You pull out of your temporary parking spot, *looking both ways, Smile and wave as you drive on the road to Outasight. Right now there's plenty of space and you have no problems, radios on, waving at traffic crew, and then the cars lined up and you're in traffic. But your patient, so you sit and you wait. That is what patient people do. And because you're an extra special fairy and you are a symbol of gratitude and graciousness-you smile.
Let me point to the right at the person who forgot their patient hat-they are driving across the grass and cutting in line...
* and that's okay because we are patient.
The line moves slowly, you leave space in front of you, a full car length or two car lengths-at this fair people would not cut in front of you... But be prepared at another event somebody might find not as an opportunity to move up a car space. It actually was not their opportunity, it was your safety and courtesy: but we give it to them with a smile because we are patient.
Developing this type of courteous attitude, is key to Defensive driving.

So you've just moved through 20 cars trying to get past the narrow entrance to the Outasight parking lot. The parking lot opens wide and do you have an abundant amount of space. Done at circles like fun we live in a confined restrictive environment and you

Welcome to the Fair! This is our home, privately owned by the fair family. The earth is nurtured and cared for, and the environment is our first consideration. Proceeds from this event are giving back to the community, schools, education and environment.
After you park your car, grab your gear and walk it to Camp. Hug a friend. Chug a water.
Get your:
__car keys
__vehicle sticker
__drivers license
(Check list-share with a friend. Fair(ies) forget these things all the time at camp)
Time to make "fair time" slowly and peacefully to your wristband. And then it's time to move your car to OuttaSite &(outtamind)
It's been a long day, but you have the energy and that adrenaline is pumping in your brain. (But you did also drink a beer...) but you are on private property. But it is The Fair and there are pedestrians and cars everywhere!
*5 mph, both hands on the steering wheel, eyes open.
We're going to be in the car for 10 minutes and that will be IT! for the next 10 days!!
Look around you at trees, dips, and turns...the marker posts are not always standing when you get back to your car on Sunday night or Monday.

It’s the Oregon Country Fair 2024 poster reveal! 👁️ We’re honored to have local artist Emily Poole grace the official Fair poster with her wild n’ wonderful portrayal of how we gather together in this precious wooded setting.

Emily’s concept for the 2024 poster is the culmination of the theme of her trio of poster designs from 2022-2024. The Fair has come out of its year of hibernation, the many hands of volunteers and staff have come together to build the event, and all that’s left now is to attend the party! The reclining fox in the shady tree canopy above the loud and dusty parade on the path represents the dual sides of the Fair, where some come for rest and relaxation and some come for high excitement. There is also a focus on the more urban wildlife that exists on the Fair site, centering species like foxes, coyotes, and raccoons that are associated a bit more with revels and mischief.
