I was excited to take some photos for the Veblen Bash Color Run yesterday at their 2025 activities. It was a perfect morning to be outside and to watch all the runners participate 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Its been a long time since I have taken any rodeo pictures. You either have to sit high in the bleachers to see over the arena fence, or luck out and get a spot where you can sit close to the fence and shoot in between the bars. I was neither :-) I took these from the lower bleachers, trying to shoot or zoom through the fence. Next year, I need to get there earlier so I can pick and choose where I sit 🤣

It was a little quieter here Sunday night. Saturday this place was hoppin!' We couldn't have asked for a better day. Thank you Bar S Rodeo LLC, contestants, viewers, vendors and volunteers for an amazing time.

Hats off to our rodeo sponsors! Also, thank you to Brooklyn Rein for singing the National Anthem; Prairie Sky Guest and Game Ranch for the ice for the beer garden; La Coteau Saddle Club for parking cars; Karen Hornseth, Lester Hansen and Judy Guy for working the gates/admissions; Candice Stahl, Rodell Storbakken & Dave Geyer for helping the Veblen Club with the beer garden/t-shirt sales; Dave and Janelle Vig, Jennifer & Kinsey Nelson for helping with clean up.

Color Run Runners 🏃 Some things to consider for race - color powder is washable but you WILL be colorful after race. You may want to bring a change of clothes if staying around town. Also you may want to wear eye protection (sun glasses, goggles). After race you may want a towel/sheet to sit in on car ride home.

Is everyone ready to get colorful?! Tomorrow is the day for the Color Fun Run/Walk. Registration begins at 7:30, with race starting at 8am. If you haven’t paid fee yet, please pay at registration time. If you still want to join and didn’t register, no problem! Just wear white, sign a waiver at registration table, and pay fee of $10 to participate. (There are a few extra tshirts that will be available at registration table). Sounds like great weather!! Hope to see you there!! (Participants may want to wear eye protection from the powder).
