Guided tours including a peek into the historic Fruit Barreling Plant run at 1, 2, and 3 pm — a rare chance to step inside one of the most significant Japanese American historic sites in the PNW and get a ground-level look at the restoration work coming soon. (Psst — the Mukai house also got a serious glow-up this year, courtesy of , Vashon Custom Homes, and Waldron Designs.)

Not into tours? Grab your gloves and hat to join the Weeding Party all afternoon. The garden is lush. The weeds are lush-er.

No RSVP. No fuss. Just show up. 🌱

⛅The clouds parted to light our Day of Exile program this past Saturday at Ober Park.

So grateful to artist .sukune and for sharing powerful words that inspired both reflection and action.

Dr. Joe Okimoto read every family name aloud and Abbot Koshin Kane rang a bell each time.

With the Nikkei memorial sculpture in place, we can remember the history of the 111 Japanese residents who were forcibly removed from Vashon on May 16, 1942 everyday. Never again is now!

We will have remarks by and a welcoming of the recently installed Nikkei Memorial designed by .sukune.
