What are you missing if you are NOT a member of GFWC Varina Woman’s Club? Here’s a list of events since September:
-120 backpacks of school supplies to Montose and Baker Elementary Schools
-Trash pick-up and healthy walk at Osborne Boat Landing
-Prepared bag lunches for the homeless
-Collected food for Eastern Henrico F.I.S.H.
-Presentation by FeedMore and preparation of 40 toiletry bags for local seniors
-Created twiddle muffs for Alzheimer’s and autism
-Made and sold 219 quarts of Brunswick Stew
-Read to 380 kids and staff for JumpStart’s “Read for the Record”
-Monthly “Fun Fridays” with preschoolers at Laurel Hill
-Monthly book club get togethers

Sharing Carole Givens post:

Our Club prepared gift bags for the first graders at Montrose Elementary School. Each student received a book, a handmade bookmark that said Mustangs and a button. The students were precious and so excited to receive their gifts. It was such a rewarding project.

Great afternoon at Susan's Sewing Sweat Shop. Walker bags - 13 finished, 10 taken home to finish; 15 velcro pinned 6 ironed, ready to topstitch. Pillowcases - all 130 small piece ironed, 30 pinned together, sewn and flipped...just need edge sewing. I think Susan is pleased with all that was accomplished in just a few hours.
